This restaurant is located in Nakamisedori, the shopping street outside JR station. A popular restaurant for locals and tourists, it is a bit crowded but the food is very good, with fresh seafood and nice sushi, which are all available at a very reasonable price.

Hamazushi is a few steps way from Mishima Taisha. There is parking downstairs, and stairs or a life to the restaurant on the second floor.You give your name to an attentive waitress, saying whether you would like to sit at a table or at the bar, and then you wait to be called.The place is large and airy, and often busy, especially at weekends or when there's a festival at the Taisha, but you shouldn't have to wait long - the assistant will tell you how long you can expect to wait!The sushi comes on a conveyor belt. Take what you like. There is also an electronic ordering system, but yu might need some help from a Japanese speaker to manage this.When you have eaten your fill, push the button to ring for the assistant. She will count up your empty dishes and print your bill, which you then take to the cash desk (cash only).I find this among the best in Mishima - certainly better than similar outfits on Route 1.

We went into this restaurant because it was the nicest looking restaurant in the area from the outside. We had a 1000 yen and a 3500 yen chirashi. The latter came in 2 layers, sashimi on top and rice with various ingredients at the bottom. The cheaper chirashi has a few pieces of sashimi too. Very good value and delicious. For smaller eaters, the 3500 yen chirashi is enough for two, as my wife and I discovered. Recommended.
