I've had Ao Sushi a few times now. It's decent sushi, not the best I've had and not the worst. They have some cool "local" rolls, which I like. Plus, you can usually find a Groupon for them, knocking the price down a bit. What I LOVE is that they deliver! It's really nice to have the sushi show up at your doorstep. :)

We visited because we had a $50 coupon. After eating there tonight, we're going to throw out the other coupon. It's just not worth eating a second time. We had the large sushi combination and the quality of everything was poor.

A great local find for sushi. A contemporary but casual place for sushi. Good selection of maki rolls and nigiri. All the fish was fresh and seasoned to perfection. The tempura was excellent!!! Wait staff were excellent and attentive.Great selection of beers and sake.

As you can tell from its name, this restaurant features fusion Japanese and Thai cuisine. Although there is quite a bit of variation in the other Tripadvisor reviews, our experience was very good -- regarding both food and service.I wanted to try the khaosoy, a Northern Thai specialty which is based on Burmese cooking. It has both crispy and soft noodles plus vegetables in a coconut milk curry-type sauce. It is labeled "spicy" on the menu. I requested that they dial down the heat and I was served a delicious entree with depth of flavour but not too much fire.The rest of our order -- drunken noodles and vegetable tempura -- was also quite good.They have a sushi bar; 7 kinds of saki; bubble tea; and both Japanese and Thai beers.There is indoor and outdoor seating, and plenty of parking.We plan to be back for the lunch special, which is served from 11 -3, Monday - Friday. You can order from a fixed menu from the kitchen ($9.95) or from the kitchen and sushi bar ($11.95).

Even though Hanabi Japanese Restaurant is located in a medium-sized shopping center at the corner of Dundee Rd. & Buffalo Grove Rd., we thought that it was more of a neighborhood restaurant. The restaurant is located in the far inside corner of the shopping center, so it is a bit hard to find. A good rule of thumb - face the Dairy Queen and walk or drive left. Don't forget where the Dairy Queen is after dinner. The staff is friendly in their best Japanese sort of way. The sushi rolls were freshly made and we also had miso soup and endamame. The prices were quite reasonable.

Don't let the location fool you. The digs are not great, I have to admit, but the sushi is amazing! Chuck is a genius and his special rolls are out of this world. Fresh as can be and he'll even do chef's special creations. Love this place!

I myself like the option for both in one setting. I had a gastric procedure in 2013 and can only consume about 1.5 cup of solid food at a 3 he interval. My other dining partners did the AYCE and found it of great value and a huge variety. The sushi was fresh and addequite. The ingredients mat not be 5 âââââ fresh but they tasted very good in our choices. My favorites items include the Volcano Roll and the Sesame Balls. It's not a super fancy sushi bar but I liked its value and taste enough to give them âââââ!
