Port City Chop House, Wilmington, NC. 07-28-19 Put This on Your Curiosity List! **Bucket List sounds too terminal so I call mine a Curiosity List! Dining at the Chop House in Port City North Carolina is a culinary and customer service experience you donât want to miss. On Sunday July 28, 2019 we were a party of 5 for dinner. The Chop House, managed by Elizabeth Yasuk, provides a fine dining experience with serious food. With that in mind we made reservations. On this occasion my colleague and I are from Maryland. We were visiting her son, his wife and her grandson who reside in Wilmington. My colleagueâs son Jeremy wanted to treat us to a special dinner and took us to the Chop House. This was a wonderful experience! We arrived at the designated reservation time and were promptly shown to our table. Our server Kim was awesome! She thoroughly knew the menu and easily answered our questions and made suggestions as to what paired with what. She was patient and pleasant! Who of us has gone to a restaurant and NOT delayed ordering due to side conversations and topics that occur while perusing the menu? With mom, son, wife, grandson and a friend, we had plenty of topics to discuss including the Chop House menu.Kim seemed to be experienced with this situation and checked with us periodically and answered questions until we were ready to place our meal orders. We ordered an appetizer that was wrapped in bacon. Oh My Gosh! You can hardly ever go wrong with bacon, but this appetizer was delectable! Over the top! The bacon was delicious! I donât recall what the bacon was wrapped aroundâ¦perhaps scallopsâ¦but the bacon was the star of this show! Okayâ¦perhaps I have a bacon bias, but we all agreed it was delicious! We ordered steaks and pork chops and vegetable sides. Individually and collectively this was a dining experience to be remembered! Great food and great friendly service from Kim made for a heartwarming family experience! Thank you, Kim, and thank you Ms. Yasuk for having such wonderful Teams in the Front AND the Back of the House! We will return to the Chop House! The Chop House has a permanent position on our Curiosity List! Thanks again Kim! You guys Rock!

Legendary Food, Legendary Service
First off want to emphasize that generally speaking, we love Texas Roadhouse. In our Burlington NC location weâve always had great food and service hence why we opted for this location while on our trip Memorial Day vacation. Sadly this location did not fare well against our expectations. Service was slow and for other tables around us, it was even worse for them (they were seated before us and we had our drinks and food way before them). Biggest disappointment was the food. Portions were small in comparison to what we get in Burlington. My sweet potato was sadly tiny. With my steak and rib combo, the ribs were dry as if they were cooked too long. On a positive note, the bread was good. Couldnât go above a 3 for this location. Maybe they were having an off night.
