Due to load shedding, on arrival we were in darkness. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and when the power eventually came on at 20h10, we could finally see the place. It is well decorated and the history is fascinating.I have the Beef Trinchado, and it was a bit too garlicky for me, so much so that I battled to eat it. Everyone else's meals seamed OK, and friends had the lamb, which they loved.Glad we went to experience the place.

We have visited old Dalby a few times and every experience has been wonderful. There is always a roaring fire going and the feel is as if you are visiting old friends. Molly is an absolute gem and we love chatting and catching up with her.The food is always excellent and we seem to always end up ordering the Lambs neck, an absolute must. And of course, the potatoe skins that you get for free with a bread plate.Thank you very much versterb101for this positive review.The Lamb neck is our signature dish and one can not go wrong ordering it.See you soon again.

Riebeek Kasteel on a chilly Sunday night is hardly a bustling metropolis. So we were pleasantly surprised to happen upon this warm and welcoming restaurant. At The Valley Kitchen you will find a great hearty meal for very reasonable prices. Had Sunday lunch there and the Pork Belly was absolutely delicious as was the Chicken livers.!!! Lovely relaxed atmosphere with a place for kids to play and also quiet area if you want to relax under the air con on a hot day. There is outside seating as well as indoors. Nice cold beers and great food what more can one ask for?
