I came across this on a YouTube video and as I was headed in that direction I decided to try some horse meat! It was a bit difficult to communicate as there was no English at all but I stumbled through with my terrible Japanese skills and ordered a set. The staff triple checked to make sure I knew it was horse meat. That was kind to help foreigners know ahead of time. The horse sashimi was very tasty. The BBQ was a bit lower quality but still good. The GPS had a hard time finding the location but don't give up!

Every time my family visits the Shimoda mall they beg me to take them to lunch at pepper lunch. Food is reasonably priced and service is fast. Food comes out sizzling hot on a cast-iron type plate... Beware that the plate is very hot and can burn you if you're not careful!

This place is consistantly good. The atmosphere is a little 80's,but the hamburger and prawns are great. The fried chicken cutlet with ketchup is also very good.

We had heard of this place as "best steaks in town", so had to try it. Hard to find, for us, but well worth it! Only ten seats around grill....typical "yakaniku" place, run by older couple and chef/son. Limited menu, but more than enough. We had excellent tender beef, and shrimp. Be sure to get there early enough to get their special dessert.
