We are a family friendly smokehouse located in the heart of Kettering serving a range of smoked meat, burgers and steaks We house the largest amount of self serve frozen yoghurt machines under one roof. Also serving an array of wines, lager and cocktails

We put in our order, there was only one other table sat down. My daughterâs food came out no problem, although only asked for fries after it had been served. We also wanted mayonnaise however thought we would wait for service for my main...this took an AGE! So much so that I had eaten half of her chips and then after FINALLY ordering was told later that there was no mayonnaise, I then asked for peppercorn sauce for her which was vinegary and very clearly microwaved. My main of steak came and was again left waiting a ridiculously long time for the blue cheese sauce, so much so that my steak was then tepid. Oh dear lord, it was awful! I complained to the wait staff who conceded that it was made from blue cheese dressing instead of properly like my 6yo daughter makes! We didnât have time to have a replacement as it had taken long enough in the first place and it was truly awful. I would not recommend this place, slow kitchen, service forgets your order and are aware itâs so awful and disgusting!

We havenât been to this place for a while as the first time we went (12 months ago) we didnât have the best of experiences.What can we say, a complete turnaround! Our host Peter was attentive, polite and always available - outstanding waiter. It really is rather off-putting from the outside, it would not be unfair to be apprehensive based on appearances alone. However, once you get up the stairs and get inside, it is clean, warm and cozy. The waitress was fantastic, the ârightâ balance of friendly and attentive, the service was excellent. All the little touches such as the complimentary olives and water (with ice, lemon and limes served separately), really makes such an impression. We had pizzas, which were of fantastic quality and very enjoyable. They compared very favourably to pizzas with similar toppings elsewhere. The pizzas were large and generous but we managed to squeeze in a small dessert of tiramisu and one of ice cream, very nice. The two scoops of ice cream came with a strawberry and optional lemon and lime. Everything just seemed thought-through and attention to detail was high. An alcoholic drink, large pizza and dessert for just under £20 each seemed good to us. The toilets are up another flight of stairs and are rather dated decor-wise, but functional and clean.It was surprisingly quiet on a Saturday night, only a couple of other tables were occupied. I really recommend that you try this place next time you fancy Italian. The food quality and service make it so worth it, as long as you take the leap to see beyond the exterior.
