this small takeout type fish market is a gem. In a ritzy town like Darien you certainly don't expect to find a super reasonably priced fresh seafood place. There are only a few tables to eat and the menu is limited to fried seafood but it has a few other items. We got a mixed fried seafood platter, a fish n chips, and a lobster roll and crabmeat salad sandwich. They were all good. The crabmeat is a winner, as is the lobster roll- filled with meat. The prices are great and the people who work there may seem a little gruff but they were very kind to us. It's just off the main center in a small area of a few businesses.

Driving down Tokeneke Road I spotted Jennifer’s Kitchen and decided to explore. Turned out to be a small local deli with a somewhat limited menu… a small assortment of breakfast offerings, soups, sandwiches, salads, four dinner entrees… but also a selection of 8 daily specials… AND… “Create Your Own Dinner… Ask for whatever your heart desires”. The breakfast menu and the lunch menu are both served all day. (The menu is fully described on the website.)The interior is small, cramped, a tad cluttered. Dine-in seating is limited to two tall tables and eight high stools so a lot of the business is take-out. I ate on site and opted for one of the daily specials… Chicken Pot Pie $9.50 This version of chicken pot pie was served with the ingredients in a large soup bowl with topped with two flaky creations. Hot, very tasty, lots of chicken; perfect for a cold December day. The cook and server were both friendly. Coffee was decent. While I ate a number of other customers stopped in to pick up take-out orders that they had phoned in, so the place is obviously popular with the local community. Additional observations…- wheel chair accessible- no customer WiFi- it’s a mini-deli, mostly for take-out… so not licensed for alcohol- credit cards acceptedBottom line… I am glad that I stopped in when passing by, and would stop in again… but would not make a major detour to return.

I've had an amazing meal at this restaurant. The Pho GA and Ramen ( Spicy Miso with chicken) , Shrimp Bao, and the Herbed Edamame, all were delicious and amazing. The staff was friendly and helpful with making suggestions. The ambiance was great and so was the music. I wondered if they had a live DJ. I would definitely tell everyone about Mecha!
