As of the 2010 census, Weymouth had a total population of 55,643. It is named after Weymouth, Dorset, a coastal town in England. It is the second-oldest European settlement in Massachusetts. Newcombs is the perfect stop for a diner-style breakfast or lunch. Friendly waitresses with bubbly personalities and locals that could be characters from an episode of the sitcom Cheers. It's good food, made on a grill by folks that take pride in what they serve. It's family friendly and there is plenty of parking out back.

This place has been our go to place for a long time for very good meal and service. Apparently menu recently changed for some reason. Resulting in fewer choices although denied by wait staff; if not then letâs call it much more complicated ordering. For examples, sides are no longer listed so you need to ask wait staff , if you know to do so. Mixing and matching is allowed but pricing is confusing because certain sides are premium. Prior choice of fish and how you want it seasoned and cooked was unique and outstanding but now gone. Chowder usually good but only mediocre. Martini was weak. Not sure if there has been a change in local management or if this is corporate and financially driven but even dessert menu had spelling error, which is not typical. Hopefully the restaurant will rethink its changes before it is too late.

Visited recently with a work group, not having been previously but knowing how good seafood was around Boston was looking forward to having a lobster dish and was not disappointed when receiving my lobster roll order.We had some group starters and the main dish was tasty as expected, waiting staff were very efficient and overall a good visit. Easy to get to especially if you happen to be staying at the Hyatt which is right next door

Went for early dinner w/2 oldest grandchildren. Waffled between whole belly clams or steamers but faced w/menu options got the seafood platter. Not as many whole clams as opposed to "bits". Very little calamari but well cooked. Scallops were a little overcooked but tasty. Large piece of fish also cooked perfectly. The star, however, was the shrimp. Perfectly cooked, juicy & delicious. Cole slaw was good as were the fries & I'm not a big fry lover. As is the case w/a lot of places, the tarter sauce is forgettable. Just mayo w/not enough relish. Grandson got the steamers which were good but if that's all I was having I would have wanted a lot more. Granddaughter got the scallop plate & was happy. For three meals & no drinks it came to $80. Thought that was a lot compared to what we might have had at a better restaurant.

What a quaint, fabulous establishment---seafood right off the boat---clams with the bellies were the best-- cant wait to get back there for more of their lobster and clams--so so good and FRESH - kinda small inside but worth the wait although we were there for lunch and we did not have to wait

This restaurant gets good buzz, and since we would be in the area...AND the lunch menu had the regular lunch fare and also entrees...which isnât always the case we were looking forward to trying it.They did a decent job inside. It is not plush but rather pub/everyday comfortable, which I think was most likely the intend..a large bar, some high top tables and your more standard seating. Unfortunately the food was average. We ordered a chicken parm sandwich which came with fries. It was standard, nothing memorable. We also ordered the roasted cod,on a bed of spinach with the smallest of kick of spice, roasted tomatoes and black olives, and a dash of arugula on top which was a good compliment. Presentation was nice... the cod did not have much flavor (they should have added more capers) there is no salt on the table which isnât unusual at better restaurants and I am sure I could have asked. I myself buy cod and notice the fresh cod I buy at from Iceland while visually looks wonderful tends to have no taste...yet when I purchase from other countries (of course USA is the best cod) flavor is not an issue. You should not have to use an abundance of salt or any other seasoning to achieve great flavor on a quality product. All that said I ate the whole dish... I just expected more from this restaurant.The server/bartender Joe was extremely likable and we experienced great service... In fact, Joe was the best part of our visit.

Mariaâs restaraunt In Braintree Mass supplies large portions of Italian and American fare at reasonable prices. When you arrive you will be seated and provided with a menu that has lots of choices, an ice water and Italian bread with butter. Friday and Saturday, Prime Rib is on the Specials menu. All entrees are served with a Greek or house salad that is a good size too. The quality, taste and portion size will keep you coming back to great value and service on a regular basis.

Dropped in on a Tuesday for a late lunch early dinner. We ordered the delicious hot crab dip, I recommend to everyone. A favorite at my table. One friend ordered the fish tacos, they were excellent. I ordered the crab cakes, they were tasty, however not plated in an appealing manner. The other people at the table ordered the steak tip salad, it was perfectly plated, cooked and seasoned properly. Another order was the Jumbo shrimp cocktail I do not recommend. It was not freshly cooked, it was like rubber and we sent it back. The server we had was excellent a very astute young man whom relocated from Florida.
