I have been seduced by a dessert. Not that the main course was bad ( it was a fantastic balanced fish dish !) nor was the wine, and the service was superb and welcoming ( the waiter could even speak French it turned out :-) BUT I have never eaten such a tasteful chocolate dessert. I have no words to describe it ... If I could I would write a symphony about it ... but just like the art of the 4 violins on the wall inspires the inner music when you eat something really good, the composition of "The Desert " with its 3 chocolate ingredient seduced me to come back .... and I have ... and each time it gets better. If you want to taste for yourself, you have to hurry because they close soon for the season.

The restaurant is situated inside Varberg fortress in a historic building and furnished in a Nordic, minimalistic way. The service is excellent and knowledgeable.Happy Fish serves oysters, lobster as well as other kinds of seafood. We had crab and plaice, both accompanied by excellent wines suggested by the waitress.

We visited the restaurant in the early afternoon on Midsummer's Day. The staff coped really well with the volume of people, not helped when the heavens opened for an unexpected rain shower. The reason for 4 stars rather than 5 is that mussels ordered by friends were unfortunately cold. Other than that, the quality and presentation of food was excellent.Hi dear Bistro Guest =)Thank You for giving us a fine rating.This Day was a crazy afternoon..when the weather hit us and the whole park with all the people who celebrated midsummer came int to our restaurant.Sorry about hearing that Your friends food was cold - And I hope You informed us and that You received new hot mussels.Hope to see You next Year again.All the best,Maria with Crew

This is the place to buy ice cream when in Kärradal. If you don't like ice cream (who does not?!) you can always enjoy a hot coffee and a real good old swedish cinnamon roll. Very nice and cozy old style interior and of cource chairs and tables outside as well.
