Em Setembro, este restaurante e mais quatro, em Santa Cruz servem sapateira à discrição por um preço fixo de 18,5 euros. Um sucesso e no caso do Polvo o recheio da dita atinge o sublime, quando comparado com os outros restaurantes. Recomendo brutalmente,em Setembro, todos os anos!!!

The follow was regular and the waitresses were very kind.I was alone and when I payed I expected the invoice and the change. The bill came to the table but they assumed that they could keep the change. It was one euro change but yet it was my decision to leave it or pick it, not anyone else!It was an absolute abuse.Iâll never come back again and advise all my colleagues and friends to do the same!Ola, Peço as Minhas Desculpas de ter acontecido isto. I read reviews about this restaurant before I went to Madeira. I was impressed with the reviews so I visited this place last week. I had the octopus and I was not disappointed! The food here is beautiful. We caught the bus to it from Machico and had a cab back. Get your driver to give you the price first. This restaurant is exceptionally cheap, however the food is outstanding.

We have been coming to Santa Cruz for over 20 years and it has changed a great dealI remember the promenade when it was just to end of the small park -much shorter than it is now also where Vila Gale hotel is, used to be the local football field, there was no Aqua Park..All that was here was a pebble beach ,but it was good to go swimming.In 2004 the Aqua park was built and in 2006 Hotel Vila Gale openedThe restaurant Praia das Palmeiras has always been there,but it has had three different owners or managers that I know of.Its biggest asset is it position within a few metres from the Atlantic Ocean with good views of Santa Cruz Bay and the Desert Islands.But before anyone gets carried away ,it is a beach side Bar/ snack bar /restaurant.It is very good for A beer ,Gin and Tonic or the local Poncha .and half the price you would pay in an Hotel.I have not tried the Pizzas ,nor would i want to when they serve good local food,e.g. Picardo ,lapas, Espada and many others.Also there is always a dish of the day ,which is always good value.We always come here for a coffee or drink and sometimes a snack .It is a pleasure to sit in the sun and enjoy the view,and talk to the very friendly staff who always do their best to make your visit a pleasant .one. Please be aware in the summer months when the children are on holiday from school It can be very busy and crowded with families enjoying the sun and the swimming Facilities , I recommend this place but accept it for what it is.

Call in for a beer or cold drink or coffee a snack or full meal. The fresh fish caught that day locally, severed with salad and chips with a herb dusting yum yum, the toasty and their own burgers with bacon I loved loved. We took a tuna toasty for the flight home so good. The staff very friendly, most spoke English, sensibly priced food and drink. It has a great local feel about it but not pretentious very relaxed.

Stopped to have a quick bite and a drink here. Beautiful location right next to the beach. Food was tasty, wine was good and service was fast. Will definitely visit again before we leave.

Restaurant is in a nice setting - an elevated position overlooking the harbour, with large panoramic windows. Like many other establishments in the area it produces a lovely garlic bread. Unfortunately that's about everything good I can find to say. Both my wife and I chose variations on the espada theme. In both dishes the fish was way overcooked. The vegetable accompaniment largely consisted of a variety is squash (not my favourite food I have to admit) which was swimming in butter - probably some attempt to impart a little flavour. Upon leaving the restaurant we agreed that a score of 3 stars was probably appropriate. However, given that we both suffered from indigestion for the next 24 hours I cannot give it more than than two. Others seem to have had a better experience than us. But I'm afraid we will not be visiting again. We have had much better meals at the cafe right behind the church in the main square.

The menu was quite basic but food was tasty and portions of a good size. Some items lost in translation a little on the menu perhaps?! My husband ordered the âsteak sandwich on a plateâ and got steak, egg and chips (on a plate!) Prices were very reasonable and location next to the church pleasant. Only one waiter serving, so service was rather slow.

Stopped by here by chance passing through Santa Cruz. We had a great meal, really reasonably priced, with swift and friendly service. The boys were happy with the food (and the free WiFi!) and my husband and I were very happy with the food, cleanliness and atmosphere. Added bonus of a complimentary glass of Madeira.
