Hyggelig restaurent som ligger lige ned til havnen i Ballen, Samso. Maden er lavet med omhu og kreativitet af hovedsagligt danske og ikke mindst oens ravare.

Lovely restaurant with a beautiful view on Ballen harbor. The food is tasty and quite traditional, although maybe not the most original one. We missed some bread and butter before/along with our main course. Very much recommended anyway! :)

Restaurant Dokken

Welcome to the Ballen and one of Samsø's most visited restaurants with panoramic views of the Ballen Harbor. There is an outdoor service and the menu is filled with classic dishes such as fish, steaks and fried pork. Only high-quality food and local produ

2 years ago I also reviewed Dokken restaurant... and it is still very good. Tuesdays and wednesdays they still have good wholesome danish meals fried pork (stegt flæsk) or biksemad on the menu for very reasonable 89 kr.The location is great - with great views - and the charming old fishing vessel in the restaurant. The best thing is the service though. Always friendly, smiling (sometimes humming/singing) and as all waiters should be. I have been in many "fancy" places where the staff could learn a lot from here.My girlfriend had a rubarb / sparkling water drink when we were there for dinner - and we forgot to ask where the rubarb was from. We came by the next day to ask - and he showed us the Rynkeby Rubarb lemonade bottle with a big smile and suggested where we could probably find it.

Had a nice lunch here on one of the sunny days of last summer. The seafood is excellent - especially the local flat kinds.Location is special - with the restaurant being on in the actual harbor - with only a few meters to the water.

The idea about a seafood restaurant at this small harbor is really good, but what a disappointment. Small portions and the kitchen did their best to mess up the cooking of the fish. A really expensive lunch for something to poor. But the harbor is nice.

Ballen Fisk

Shops with fresh fish are always great to look at - with lots of interesting creatures from the sea. This one is the same - but also serves some of the fish - fish 'n chips style. We had 2x fish fillets with batter + chips for 65 kr each. They were given to us on single use plates with wooden disposable knife/fork - by a friendly waiter. It was ok - but the fish to batter ratio was a bit too much towards batter - I would have liked some more fish. chips were ok - but from a big freeze bag. Very fast foody. the remoulade (dipping) was plentiful. The location ok - close to the water - and you can see the fishermen carry in the fish close by.For that price I would probably recommend paying a bit extra and going to some of the other restaurants on in the Ballen harbour (very close by).
