What a great place, really delicious food, great service, lovely ambience. All good. Could not fault our visit (other than the weather of course). Swanpool is a stunning little place, hope all the new houses being squeezed into this area doesn't alter the feeling - glad we found it when we did.

Harbour View

All six of our tapas dishes were very good though as they were brought out together some went cold. When I gave this feedback I was told I could have asked for them to come separately, it would be a good idea to ask people in advance. We had incorrectly assumed that they would come out one by one. We shared an expresso creme brulee which was so good but the cinnamon donuts had zero cinnamon in them and were pretty awful, just lumps of dough. All in all it was a very good meal and it's a pleasant cafe style restaurant with a good view of the harbour. The wine though has a high mark up, the pinot grigio we had cost £19 and tasted like a £5 bottle. Would it not be possible to improve the quality? An extra couple of pounds spent would go a long way. The wine was just about drinkable. We paid £65 before tip. It was the first cold evening we have had and there is quite a draught in the window seats. It was an enjoyable evening and the waiters do their bestWe are delighted that you enjoyed your tapas dishes and creme brulee and appreciate your feedback regarding the timings of your dishes. We do typically serve everything at once unless someone asks otherwise but will bear this in mind going forward. We were sorry to hear that your donuts were not quite so good. This is a suprise as they are usually delicious so can only apologise that they were not so during your visit. Please do always tell your server if something is not right - we would have been happy to replace them. As regards the wine, once again we would have been happy to offer you an alternative if you were not happy.

Whenever I come here I always leave saying that I should come more often. The shack stack is fantastic, really good quality seafood. Love it. We had a £19 bottle of an italian pinio grigot which was really very okay. It makes such a difference when restaurants have a decent bottle of wine at this price. Service here is always friendly and efficient and the atmosphere is relaxed. I am looking forward to the lunch time meal deals starting again. Most definitely recommend the Shack.

The Seafood Bar

Verdant Brewing Co taproom and small plate seafood bar in the heart of Falmouth, Cornwall. Locally made and sustainably sourced food and drink in a casual, cosy environment.

Wonderful to have Verdant beer available in a bar in Falmouth! The beer is exceptional, the bar staff very knowledgeable and the surroundings in keeping with the whole craft beer vibe. We ate here too and thought the food was wonderful, but more tapas than mains size. The name of the bar is perhaps a little confusing as it really is beer first, we thought? I don't think we would try to make this a main meal stop again, but for beer, vibes and a tasty snack it was truly great!!

They had booked many months ago so there's no point in turning up and hoping for a table.Everything was delicious and I especially enjoyed the scallops and the firm, sweet crevettes with shells on.If I was being fussy I'd say there could be a wider selection of wine but hey, you're here for the shellfish.Service is great and I'm coming back in February. We visited on a Sunday as a family- my brother’s recommendation. Being Vegetarian can sometimes make Sunday lunch a fun lottery....and the test always tends to be ‘how much care do they take over the accompanying vegetables? Well happy days- every choice of accompanying vegetable was high quality, cooked perfectly and was served with a tasty sauce or flavour to add interest. I think the veggie option changes weekly so we can’t wait to visit again. Oh, the service is friendly and the drinks varied and of good quality. Thank you.
