We dropped in to Ches's at this location a little while back and were not disappointed. The fish was, as usual, unequalled anywhere else in St. John's.But the fries did it for me. Home cut and home made; never frozen. Rarely found in any restaurant nowadays. The best fish and chips in St. john's and I've been enjoying Ches's for many, many years.We will definitely return!

We ate shrimp tacos, salted cod cakes, and crispy chicken sandwich. But before we started we had the delicious spinach dip! Good selection of beer. The sandwich cane with a pile of fries that could feed an army - or three hungry travelers. Worth the stop!!!

Went to dinner with a large group 20+ ladies celebrating our 30th Nursing Reunion & can not say enough about the food & service. We all had appetizers & main entrees. Wine a little over priced but good all the same at least the one I ordered. Excellent seafood, taste, temperature of food & service.

Attended with a group. It took over 2 hours for food to arrive which was very very slow. When I asked to speak to the manager it took over 20 minutes for the manager to come to the table. Instead of being apologetic about the service and asking what they could do for us the manager was very defensive. Said "We have had a very challenging night in the kitchen serving over 200 customers". IMO If you don't have the capacity to serve the tables then you need to reduce the number of tables. Two members of our group didn't eat their meal as it was not really edible. Incredibly disappointing experience for a restaurant that had come highly recommended. I won't eat here again. Overall the experience and level of service and attention to the customer was not what I expected or have experience elsewhere in Newfoundland.

Adelaide oyster is a gem in St. John’s. No reservations are accepted, unless you are a party of 6 or more. We stayed at the bar and we’ve enjoyed it very much. Food is delicious and they have a great selection of locally crafted beers. We have shared 5 dishes between the two of us and we had a great dinner. Thank you so much! We're working on the reservation policy to make it easier for guests to visit us! I hope we see you again!

We arrived near closing time, but they happily accommodated us on a summer night. Nice table near the front window. Seafood all was excellent. Especially friendly service. It is a small and unpretentious place -- if this were my neighborhood (I'm from far away!) this would be a local go-to place.

Ches's is one of the most delicious places I have eaten in St. John's. Their chips are amazing! My chicken sandwhich is always perfect as well. They also offer you a little free cupcake after your meal. But you should also try the five star bar for dessert. It is the perfect ending to a perfect meal. Just the right size so that it doesn't make you stuffed but leaves you with your sweet craving fufilled. The staff is always friendly and make you feel at home. Was visiting family who live in the Gould's. Delicious fish coated & cooked perfectly. Warning on the chips- they were delish and we got them with dressing & gravy but one serving is enough for 2 people. We had take out and the counter service was friendly. Would definitely go again. Good prices.

Been to Tiny’s several times in CBS and never disappointed. Can’t say same for new location. Service was fair, but quick. Portions in CBS were huge, about 1/2 size in St. John’s. Thought maybe it was just my order watched other patrons receive their food and again small portions than CBS. Cost saving measure must be had for new restaurant. 4/10 overall.

If you like soggy, super greasy fish & chips..then this is for you. I've tried all locations, portions are skimpy besides tasting like old grease that's been dipped multiple times. I'd recommend Leo's or By Da Beach in st. Phillips, another is The Station in Holyrood. I cringe to think that come from aways think this is what a good feed of fish & chips really tastes like .
