Kuala Terengganu is also the capital of Kuala Terengganu District. It is also the only royal capital among the nine royal states of the country that bore its state's name. Kuala Terengganu is located about 440 kilometres northeast of Kuala Lumpur on the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia. The city is situated at the estuary of Terengganu River, facing the South China Sea.

Been at the waterfront, the place really has a good location with a nice view - fronting terengganu river, one could see the Sultan Mahmud bridge, masjid kristal and also the pulau duyong (an island at the river). Best of all, could see fishing boats going by the river. Really a 'view of terengganu'. Other good thing about the place is it's service. If one really hungry, probably this is the place to go, the meal/food will be ready in 'a minute'. Just word of cautious, the place would be crowded especially at weekend, but the service still reasonably fast.The place more famous for its' westerm food, though there also some local delicacy ie 'keropok lekor' otherwise most of it's menu are western. The foods are quite ok, with reasonable price.

This restaurant have very nice village feel decor, very comfortable. Original plan to order Signature Coconut Tomyam but not available, end up order Red Tomyam (i got white tomyam instead), Kailan with salted fish, fried sotong...Order the food around 8.30pm, and only got the all the food served at 10pm...All food taste slightly salty, and nothing special about it. Personally a bit overrated since it featuring in local television food show.Thank you for your comments,we will take action to improve our services.

We decided to try someplace new and ended up at Mike 2, as usual we ate family style ordering a selection of dishes and helping ourselves.We went with half a duck in sticky teriyaki sauce, pork in sweet and sour sauce, lemon chicken, fried rice and noodles, washed down with Tiger and root beer.All the dishes were very nice with the duck and pork being the favourites of the nite. We all left fat and happy and at less than £8 each it's worth a visit if your in town.

I came here often during my stay in Terengganu and was pleasantly surprised. The srvice was excellent, staff friendly and above all the food was excellent. The staff offered suggestions for me to try and I was very pleased with their choices. The prices were very reasonably also. Really good place.

If you're talking about original keropok lekor , I've actually tested better (and cheaper) ones than this. But they do have interesting variation of keropok lekor that made them stand out - cheese lekor , blackpepper lekor and onion lekor. And their dipping sauce is to die for!We came right after they open, at about 8.30am. So I was served on the spot, without the need to pre-order and taking que numbers. Was told that later on in the day, waiting time to be served can be quite unbearable.

Restoran Ocean seems to be the most popular chinese restuarant among the Chinese community in Kuala Terengganu. We were invited to three dinners in the very same restaurant within the week of our visit. The food and service were decent, but had nothing to shout about. A good place in Kuala Terengganu if you crave for decent chinese food in a Muslim state.

For squid lover, a must visit place is Pok Nong. With size varieties and affordable price. Find place to seat, make sure enough for all family members, then queue up for the squid.Drink the fresh coconuts drink or corn shaved ice.... yummy...Worth queuing....
