Usually order takeout from Mai Oishi, but eating in the restaurant makes it even better! This is probably my favorite sushi spot in this town. Fairly affordable in return for good quality. Skip the plain nigiris and sushi, I highly recommend anyone to try out their special maki series!

Fiskesalg AS Rett i garnet

Rett-i-Garnet was an interesting restaurant/bar. We had finished up a tour at the waterfront and fish market. We had some time to kill, and our friends wanted to sit, relax and enjoy a local brew. We decided on Rett-i-Garnet because it looked inviting and we could enjoy our beer and the view. I had seen the crab served in the shell in the fish market and when I noticed it on their menu, I decided I had to try it. It was tasty. The problem is that it becomes a little watery because it is displayed and kept with ice all over it until it is served; and of course some of that melts. It was good, but again nothing to really get too excited about. Our beers were good, and the service was good. We had a nice table and the heater helped as the weather was rainy, damp and chilled. This restaurant is very near where the cruise ship ties up, and so it is a convenient place to stop before departure. All in all Great location, good food & good service.

The menu is mostly seafood. Colleagues that chose seafood enjoyed it. I ordered the entrecôte which was chewy and full of fat. The entré chicken salad was nice though. So if you like seafood, you’re at the right place. The outside tables are nice on sunny days.
