Joey's Bar and Grill

My department Christmas Party was held here and it was really nice. The food was delicious, though we were told we would be ordering what we wanted they served a buffet style meal. Salmon, mixed vegetables, mashed potatoes and chicken Parmesan with pasta. They also served appetizers of spinach pizza and chicken wings. Both delicious (and I never eat cooked spinach!) and just enough to hold you over until entree was served. They served salad before the entree as well, which was okay. Not sure what kind of greens were used but it was okay. The drinks were good, although halfway through my second drink I discovered a hair in my glass which was attached to two ice cubes. Needless to say, I didn't finish that drink. One of my co workers said she never got the drink she ordered, and she didn't get her dessert either, which was just a scoop of (yummy) vanilla ice cream with sliced strawberries and whipped cream. All in all the night was fun and the food was good. I may take my husband here for dinner some time.

Eggroll Lady & Fish Shack

Reviewed By lynninma

We attempted to eat here once before, on a Saturday at around 1:30 p.m. only to find that the “Lady” opens at 4 p.m. on Saturdays. This time, we were here on a Friday well after the typical lunch rush time (it was shortly before 2 p.m.) to find only one other couple occupying seats in this little hole in the wall (think very small trailer trying to replicate a fish shack, complete with “gnarly” surfer wall art, tacky curtains, and seating for very few people inside – about 8 to 10, and that’s squeezing them in). Starving at this point, my companion and I each ordered an Eggroll Lady Platter thinking we could put sizeable dents in them. Wrong---each contained four smallish eggrolls, three battered chicken fingers, three good-sized battered shrimp, and three crab Rangoon. Delicious as most of this food was, albeit heavy, being all deep-fried pieces, we each took home about half of our orders. I must agree with others here that the really outstanding item in the platter was the eggrolls. The shrimp and chicken were pretty run-of-the-mill, but the Rangoon triangles had thick edgings on them---not very appealing to us so we tore them off. Other than that, we had no complaints. Our young server was very pleasant, bringing us more sauces and mustard upon our request, and even the Lady herself stopped by our table to check on us and chatted a bit. As mostly every past diner has said, they are very pleasant and accommodating people. When we are in the area again on the correct day and at the correct time, we’ll most certainly visit the Lady for more of those righteous eggrolls and perhaps to sample some fish and chips and kim chi (I’m a big fan of this spicy slaw).

Sounded promising, so I stopped in and ordered fried oysters and some of the gumbo... While the gumbo was good, the oysters were underwhelming.. very thick batter, I could hardly taste the oysters..Fries and cole slaw just ok also... Maybe some of the other things on the menu are good, but i didn’t feel like I was back in NOLA

The Sole Proprietor

We had a delicious dinner recently at this restaurant. Service was excellent. We started off with very good clam chowder and then had grilled salmon and fish & chips. All were excellent. The only downside (surprisingly) was dessert. My husband had tiramasu and it was tasteless. He has had it dozens of times in other restaurants and this was by far the oddest tasting tiramasu. I had the apple Brown Betty and it was way too sweet, loaded with lots & lots of sugar. When we were asked whether we enjoyed the desserts, we were honest & our wait staff were kind & only charged us for one dessert. Would go back again, but would not order dessert.

West Boylston Seafood operates three different businesses in one building: a restaurant, a retail seafood market, and a wholesale seafood company that serves Worcester County. We had another successful takeout order in recent days. We had fried scallops, french fires, and coleslaw. All were excellent. The best scallops we had had in several years. (Typically, our order is ready before we can drive there to pick it up.

I’ve followed Tim and Susan from their opening in Sterling to their larger facility in Holden both because of the excellent food and because I enjoy them as people as well. They strive to make everyone comfortable, always recognizing their customers, provide excellent meals for omnivores like me with terrific seafood and ribeye dishes to vegetarian dishes with their saute entrees, soups and salads. I enjoy these as well because they’re very well seasoned and thoughtfully prepared; just darn tasty. And then you have Susan’s homemade desserts; like the Boston Cream Pie I had the other night.Stopped in on Thursday, 01/17, for a lighter supper which took a hard left turn when I learned Susan had her Boston Cream Pie! So hard to find and hers is simply excellent. For those of us regulars, we appreciate how Tim and Susan always greet us by name, have developed a staff of very nice, polite servers and provide meals a cut above the norm at good prices.Tim’s clam chowder is the best I’ve ever had, even better than Legal Seafood’s, and his gumbos are also terrific, another item you can’t find often or would try again when you do find them. Tim hand trims all the seafood and steaks; and it shows in the quality of his product. I do a lot of ocean fishing and I still go to Tim for his excellent Ritz crumb coated haddock fish and chips, swordfish and shrimp offerings. My favorite Ribeye offering is steak au poivre. They have 2 parking lots that helps a lot on the busy or rainy nights. They can also handle large/private parties with a room that can be open or closed to the general seating area if you want to celebrate with family or colleagues.
