A Southern Seafood Kitchen unlike any other in the Heart of the Triad!

My wife and I love seafood so we tried this restaurant for my birthday (10-2). Our server was very nice, though she seemed confused when I said it's my birthday. Never another word mentioned by her about it. I ordered a glass of french wine, and she came back in about 10 minutes to tell me they didn't actually have it even though it was on the menu. I ordered the tuna steak, cooked medium (pink in the middle). The tuna came to our table terribly over cooked, dry and basically unappealing. This place charges high prices and delivers low quality. Very disappointing. I will never return.

Sauce was very salty, had to ask for more bread (only given a few small pieces), eggplant not done. Pasta not homemade, and not done. Soda needed syrup...Just disappointing.

Nice upscale restaurant with really good service and good food, but servings are on the small size and pricing is high for what you get. Crawfish-tails appetizer was very good and was an ample size serving. Shrimp and crab pasta serving size was on the small size and although it was very tasty, it had very little crabmeat if any. I certainly could not see or taste any crab. Baby back ribs were just average, but serving size of the side dishes were small.

It has been about 10 months since we last ate at Sanibel's. Our server mentioned the special: Top Sirloin with Grilled Peppers and Onions, slaw, choice of baked potato or fries, and hush puppies for $11.55. We both selected the special with the steak cooked medium. My husband had french fries and sweet tea. I had baked potato and water. Our server was very attentive, refilling his sweet tea a number of times. Our steaks were cooked to order and arrived promptly. We were very pleased with the steaks - they were probably 10 to 12 ounce top sirloins accompanied by a mound of grilled onions and peppers. The meat was well over an inch thick, the portion was large in size, and the meat had a nice grilled flavor. The cups of slaw are tiny and unseasoned. We each got 5 large round O shaped hush puppies that were slightly sweet. We usually only eat a couple of them. His fries and my baked potato were fine. I took home half my baked potato, some grilled onions and peppers, several large slices of sirloin and a few hush puppies. Hat's off to our nice server who suggested the special. She said a customer had ordered the special and he exclaimed how great it was. What happens when you order the steak special at a seafood restaurant like Sanibel's? Based on our experience tonight, you get a great meal for a very reasonable price. As my husband put it, we have paid a lot more for a lot less steak at some other restaurants. Their food inspection score is 96.5. We will be back to Sanibel's from time to time.

Recommended by a local for dinner before the theater. Would never have found it if it hadnât been recommended. Cozy atmosphere, interesting crowd form seniors to young age. Must be a local favorite as couples where meeting and celebrating. Speciality menu and we were not disappointed! Good service itâs cozy atmosphere. Had the scallops and they were yummy! Will plan another visit with the hubby!
