Things to do in Brucoli
We were en route to go back into the village when we spotted this restaurant.Quickly looked after by our multi-lingual waiter, and enjoying the scenery and the atmosphere of Sunday lunch with Italian families, we had a superb 4 course meal of real quality (and portions ), great house wine and coffee for just under â¬25 per person. Parking was easy.... not so in most other places we were to visit!Highly recommend.

During my several stays in Augusta/Sicily in the last three years I was visiting the Forra Bonu several times. For me the return to Orazio, Antonella and team is always a "must", to enjoy delicious sea-food platters, fresh fish from the grill or the very tasty Pizza from wood stove. Beside food I'd like to mention the wide variety of regional Sicilian winemakers. (Good price/value!)I'm looking forward to meet these guys again, as I always really feel welcome as a guest.

Sea food and fish heaven right on the waterfront in a quiet, out of the way town. Very local and also somewhat creative and modern. Excellent preparation and a special, romantic atmosphere. Best for lunch in good weather, to enjoy the emerald green-blue water at your table end.

Not the easiest place to find, look for two pillars to the left of the castle with a sloping entrance.By chance having got lost we asked a stranger who turned out to be the owner!!The menu is very limited, basically clams, mussels and octopus either with pasta or own their own.Just what we wanted for lunch, simple ,light and wonderfully fresh.Good flavours enhanced by the produce.Clearly a place appreciated by the locals as we were the only foreigners in the place and there was not a spare table.House wine at 4 euro a litreWhat's not to like.If you're in the area,it's well worth finding.

New restaurant by the sea
This was one of the most pleasant surprises of my week-long trip to Italy and the best and freshest seafood I have ever tasted. We stopped into Brucoli for a drink and were so captivated by the seaside town that we decided to stay for dinner. Stravento was recommended by our barman and we tried to book a last-minute table for 6.00. At first, the restaurant wasnât sure they could accommodate our group of five, but, through some magic, we ended up at the best table in the house, right on the veranda, overlooking the sea. While deciding what to order, the chef scampered down to the waterâs edge, having received a phone call from a fisherman to say that he had a big catch to deliver. Minutes later, the chef was carrying a huge fish, still thrashing, past our table and into the kitchen. Thatâs how fresh and authentic this place is. I grew up in a landlocked area and never really acquired the taste for fish, but my meal here was extraordinary. I enjoyed octopus, fried calamari, raw tuna carpaccio marinated in olive oil and mint, and grilled tuna. Every mouthful was delicious and the freshness made all the difference. The final grilled tuna dish was too large for me to finish, and quite a thick, very rare piece of fish. I would recommend sharing a dish this size. We had a vegetarian in our group and the restaurant did their best to accommodate, making her a pasta dish with fresh tomato salsa, which she rated as âpretty average, but the view and experience are amazingâ. We ended the evening with selfies with the jovial chef. A wonderful, unforgettable evening.

This place serves you very fresh fish and exquisite primiâs and secundoâs, while enjoying a beautiful view on Mount Etna and the bay and enjoying the lovely sounds of waves at your feet. Service and staff are excellent as is the wine-list. Youâll love it here and will remember it as âWhat a wonderful night!â

The restaurant is perfectly located just off the main thoroughfare of Catania bang in the centre. After a lazy afternoon sitting in the square we wandered back to Inamo for dinner and we were given a warm welcome by Colin the owner and his lovely wife Iolanda. The restaurant has a warm and friendly vibe, contemporary but still very Sicilian, perfect for wine lovers with a beautiful display of wines from Etna and the surrounding regions. The varied menu with a twist of fusion was mouth watering and it was difficult to decide but in the end we opted for the recommendations of the chef - the best burrata ever followed by a plate of spaghetti aglio e olio cooked to perfection and home made tiramisu'. The prices are reasonable and very good value for money, the service friendly yet professional. In fact it was one of the best meals I've had in Sicily and I really look forward to visiting again soon. Thank you Colin and Iolanda!
