We had a short trip to Petrozavodsk in the beginning of March. One of our lunches we enjoyed in Kenar. Cafe has very nice atmosphere. Unfortunately they were out of steaks which we wanted to order. But pasta with beef, vegetable salad called Kenar and carbonara were very good. Salad is highly recommended - quite big portion, fresh and light. I would recommend this cafe for couples and families.

Piipun Piha represent a good stay in Sortavala. As a hotel they are the best in area. As a restaurant Piipun Piha has the second best restaurant in Sortavala. Piipun Piha has a great harbor ares. So if you want to take boat out in Ladoga archipela, this is place to stay.

I visited this restaurant because it's located right in Park Inn Hotel (where I stayed). Ambience is really good , they have life music, people can dance. Draft beer was great as well as bavarian food!Thanks for positive review!

Located on the outskirts of Sortavala this restaurant provides a level of food and service which far exceeds anything in the surrounding area. Beautiful picturesque views of the Karelian countryside and excellently executed local cuisine provide for the best restaurant experience one can have in the region.

It is very well decorated café in the city center. The prices are not very expensive. The food is tasty, but the soups are from powder. The menu is in Russian, finish and English, but the first page with traditional food is in Russian only.

Place is located on the lake shore close to ferry terminal and offers nice views to the water. Very nice interior but irritating waiters. Food very average in taste and preparation but to be honest seems to be fresh. I think that it is one of the bests in the city anyway.

I have visited Gornitsa several times of the years and have enjoyed the food. This latest visit was equally good, though it certainly does seem pricey in comparison to many other local restaurants. Service is always good and my traveling companions, who were visiting for th first time, were suitably impressed.

Well prepared food: simple but tasty. Home made feeling. Soups, fish, meat, Russian touch. Pancakes with filling for example are so much better than in a more expensive Parizhanka cafe. Very good prices. Pleasant service though sometime a bit slow.Great location in the middle of the main street og the town - Lenin prospect. Popular place with young people. We recommend!

If you are looking for a place to chill out, have a few beers, eat pizza (they have large menu on "real" main courses and other food too) and maybe hear some live music, go to Kivach! Most of the staff members speak english and can give tips, if you are looking for clubs or other places with live music. Really nice staff, made us feel welcomed! Nice (even cheap) price level compared to Finland for example.
