Sidetrack Bar & Grill

Reviewed By Motown-Kim - Livonia, Michigan

This was my first visit. I had the spinach mushroom soup and it was fantastic! Probably one of the top five tastiest things I've ever eaten at a restaurant. I also really enjoyed the sweet potato fries with horseradish sauce for dipping. A new combination for me but really delicious.

They have a big menu with some really interesting items. I definitely want to go back and try them.

I rated a 4 instead of 5 for two reasons:

1. They brought my soup at the same time as my meal. They brought my companion's salad at the same time as her meal. Normally those should come beforehand as an appetizer.

2. The area where they seated us was very, very snug. There wasn't much room to move chairs in and out, and the person behind me had to push their chair right up against mine to get in and sit semi-comfortably. My companion, sitting across the table from he, had the same problem on her side.

Definitely worth checking out!

I travel 25 minutes away and pass many bakeries to order donuts and cakes from Dom's.
Every special occasion we've had has been marked by one of their delicious cakes. They are made from scratch, and on certain days you can hang out and watch them making and decorating the cakes. The store itself is unassuming, but the products are tasty and amazing. It is also very reasonably priced. Worth the travel time!

Maiz Mexican Cantina

Fresh from scratch Mexican cuisine, with authentic, fusion and Tex-Mex options. Vegetarian friendly, and great happy hour too!

Reviewed By Tina G - Freeland, Michigan

The menu has numerous selections including a lot of vegetarian dishes. I had 3 different tacos and all of them were very good. Another member of our party got vegetarian fajitas and the other one got tamales. Everyone was very happy with their selection. The chips and salsa are amazing and it is very easy to fill up on those because they are delicious. I was not thrilled with the margarita. I ordered an original and it was extremely sweet and tasted like a mix. I thought the drinks prices were high to begin with, but thought it would be worth the price. I was pretty disappointed. Overall, I would return to this establishment, but next time I will order beer.

was looking forward to some good bbq - as it turns out, still looking. decent place in downtown Yipsi. ok menu. service leaves something to be desired - messed up our order and would not acknowledge it nor correct our bill as a result. ribs and brisket are pretty good. chicken is decent. pulled pork is terrible. also had the peach cobbler which was very disappointing. for some reason they feel the need to put garlic in a number of things - such as the mac-n-cheese. ruined what could have been a pretty good dish. oh well. we will not dine here again

The beer selection is nothing short of AMAZING. The prices are fair for the sizes as well and if you get there before 7 you can order LITERs. I always get a growler to go of whatever I was drinking that day. The food is also better than you would expect for a brewery. The could've easily made the beer the focus but the food is JUST AS GOOD!

Don't forget to enjoy their board games library!

We ordered the Moroccan special for two. They brought the Bastilla a filo dough type sweet and savory like a meat(chicken) pie with egg and powder sugar sprinkled on top. It was interesting, new, fresh and well done. Two other appetizers were the hummus and the babba ganouj (with Moroccan spices) to proceed the main entrees succulent, moist, well seasoned lamb atop of couscous and a sweet potato on the side. Beyond delicious! I wanted more...... Then the extremely moist, well season chicken tagine came out with saffron flavored rice. The meal was accompanied with mint tea and friendly service. Give this place a try if you enjoy home made food.

Aubree's has been a long time favorite for the great pizza they serve up -- especially the Big Kahuna! Wow! Unfortunately, we have moved from the area, but passing by yesterday gave me the chance to stop in for their excellent lunchtime pizza buffet ($8.99). Add in a refillable soft drink at $2.69, and you're out the door for $12.38 plus tip. If you're into craft beer, Aubree's carries a really good selection, especially focused on our world-class Michigan beers.

The buffet includes many selections of pizza. if you don't see exactly what you'd like, just speak to your server and they'll bake up what you'd like for the buffet. The buffet also includes soup and a salad bar, limited in offerings (How about some carrots?) but very fresh. Even if you're not big on pizza, the soup and salad make a good lunch.

Server Christine is personable and punctual, brought a second soft drink before I'd even finished the first.

Bottom line, the lunch buffet is great -- highly recommended. Enjoy!

We were at Eastern Michigan University visiting from out of town. Went to this restaurant based solely on the reviews. We arrived at 2:30 PM. There were people in the restaurant eating and working but they had locked the doors 30 minutes before closing time. Sign shows that they closed at 3 PM. It showed the grill closed at 2:45 PM yet they are still closed. Very disappointing

First: the food is fresh, local, delicious, well balanced in terms of flavors, textures, and quantities. Tons of great vegetarian options!

Second: the staff is friendly and attentive.

Third: wonderful atmosphere, low volume and not too bright, sometimes a little drafty.

Fourth: I'm incredibly squeamish about body modification and to the lovely young woman with mid-cheek piercings who is there every time I go, my body hurts just typing that. I don't want to yuck anyone's yum, but my goal is to eat and I end up feeling anxious/pain. Whoo. Sorry, but I actually don't go as much as I'd like as a result.
