Went to Alton for the Chocolate Festival and discovered great food that wasn't dessert. The Bull City Cafe is in the old Bohemian Hall. It's clean, it's homey, and the food was homemade and delicious. The server was friendly and made us feel welcome in both the cafe and Alton.
The buffet included smoked pork chops (absolutely stellar--moist and tender and very flavorful), comforting hash brown casserole, California veggies, excellent barbecue beans, and a homemade pumpkin muffin. The coffee was fresh, hot, and good. If you love blue highway types of dining, this is a required stop. I understand they have an awesome fried chicken meal on Fridays. I hear the highway calling my name....

Had lunch in Weston's today with my wife.
It is a a bar and grill. The deco is retro with old signs, gas pumps, etc.
Our server was very friendly and provided great .
I ordered the pork belly burger with fries. It was at least a third pound of meat. The pork belly was ground and mixed with the beef before cooking. The burger had a very tasty bacon flavor. It was cooked just right and served with choice of cheese and the usual veggies.
The fries were crinkle cut and thin. Crispy and served hot.
My wife had the chef salad and said it was very good.
Definitely will be back.

This is in a big old barn..has decor of a coyote, geese, lots of antlers, just have to see it to really enjoy it!
And the food is so delicious and reasonable. They are open Wed.-Sun. and their Sunday dinners are so good! Usually Turkey or roast beef and fried chicken. I always order a 4 wing dinner,and it comes w/drink, real potatoes/gravy, vegetable, homemade rol,coffee or tea also included. Then they have a list of homemade pies. and of course, they'll warm it/ice cream.
It is run by a family of l2. They are very personable and make you feel at home.
Another favorite is the chicken fried steak! and the price: $6.95! You can't beat it!

We usually go to this place after church on Saturday night. The prices are real reasonable and so are the drinks. The steaks are awesome. The service is great and welcoming. There are several TV's to watch and the place is clean. It is open for lunch and everything is just as good.

The BEST reuben around!! I have ate at AppleBee's, Gutches, Thirsty's, ECT and Larry's blows the doors off of them! The corned beef is amazing and layers it thick with kraut, cheese and sauce. The bread if out of this world too!
Then don't forget to top it off with sweet potato fries or fresh cut and fried french fries. Keep up the good work Larry!!

This is an unexpected cultural feast for your senses in small town USA! Everything on the menu is delicious and the service is top notch. Call ahead to have your order ready upon arrival. And plan ahead because they are only open Thursday-Sunday and closed during the winter.

For a small town in north central Kansas, this is an excellent restaurant. I had the taco salad, and it was one of the best I have had. The burgers are large and tasty.
Did not eat an evening meal, but had lunch there twice. It is one of the better places to eat along Highway 36.

Food - Typical Mexican fare and options. Fresh food was tasty and large portions.
Value - reasonable prices
Service - The place is very large and chopped up, it wasn't busy so the servers were sitting at the bar far away from the customers, I had to find my server to get my check and pay.
Overall the experience was good, but service could use some improvement.

We were at the Nicodemus National Historic Site and needed a place to stop and eat in the afternoon on our trip back to 1-70. The lady running this Pizza Hut was very friendly, and happy to serve us even though we showed up in between lunch and dinner. The food was some of the best I've ever seen at a Pizza Hut. It was made with love. Thank you for serving us!

We stopped here for dinner on our way home. The restaurant was very clean and the staff was very friendly. I have family in the area so we will definitely be going back.
