North Fork Table

Reviewed By KatieMargaret - Brooklyn, New York

We were there on an off season Saturday night (our anniversary), and had a really nice, quiet, evening. We both had the 3-course menu with a wine pairing. The waiters were excellent, and all of our dishes were very good. By the end of the meal, we were too full for two desserts but the cookies can be taken in a to-go bag. We took them, and we ate them for days.

Happened to stop into this bakery one Saturday night after dinner. We picked up a selection of mini cannoli and took them back to our hotel. They were de-lish!!! When we went back the next evening they were closed. We'll make sure to stop by earlier when we return next year.

North Fork Roasting

Reviewed By ronacom13 - New York

This place caught on quickly, attracting lots of youngish people. The coffee is good and strong, the menu appealing and delicious. I think it's the off-beat vibe with mismatched chairs on the front lawn and inside. This creates a pleasing diversion from sameness in sterile coffee bars. Only problem, so popular the wait is sometimes long.

Southold Fish Market

Reviewed By PAM_from_LINY - NY NY

Southold Fish Market is located in a convenient spot right off the main road with plenty of parking, in a relatively recently built facility. The fresh fish never disappoints and there is a wide selection of fish and shellfish, along with frozen and refrigerated sauces, spreads and selections. The spreads are great for party appetizers. On the opposite side of the store is a dining area--most of the menu is fried seafood and fried sides, better than bars in the area but the preparation does not take full advantage of the freshness of the fish. The servers in general - both in the raw store and the dining area - are young and impatient. During the summer season when this place is busy, they can be surly, giving the eye as you select the fish you'd like to purchase, even if you are placing a large order. There is a large garbage hamper in the parking lot and during hot summer months there have been times it stinks badly, the seagulls love it, though.

We stopped by just for a beverage on a warm day. Were surprised by how modern, light and pleasant the interior was. It wasn't a traditional meal time, yet the establishment was pretty busy. One of us asked for a beverage that wasn't exactly on the menu; our waitress did a fantastic job in achieving just what was desired! We were quite pleased and give this restaurant A+ for customer satisfaction.

Founders Tavern

Reviewed By Steve T - Sayville, New York

On a recent bike trip through Southold and some local wineries, we stopped for lunch at Founders Tavern. The place was an excellent stop and featured many varied menu choices, all of which seemed absolutely tasty. We were sat in the dining area adjoining the bar/grill area, which was filled with locals and looked like a lively place. As that we were all extremely hungry from biking all day the choice was simple ... burgers for everyone. My brother and I went with the Tavern Burger, my wife and Sister In Law with the Steakhouse Burger. We all agreed the burgers were done very well and extremely tasty. A Definite stop if in town.

A Lure

A Lure, located at the landmark Port of Egypt Marina, is the North Fork's newest waterfront seafood restaurant and the newest joint venture by celebrated chef Tom Schaudel and restaurateur Adam Lovett. The duo, known for aMano in Mattituck, Passionfish in Westhampton Beach and Jedediah Hawkins in Jamesport, is joined by chef de cuisine and partner Jeff Uguil who leads in the kitchen. The idea behind A Lure is to create a seafood chowder house, serving impeccably fresh fish and seafood, in a relatively casual and convivial setting for locals, boaters, day-trippers and vacationers on the idyllic North Fork of Long Island wine country.

We dropped in here on a Wednesday late afternoon and were greeted with smiles and a table looking at the water. The drinks were delightful, service great and the food......out of this world. My swordfish was extraordinary! Everything we ordered was served in a timely manner. They have a price fixe menu right now during the week.
