Somerset Creamery

Somerset has 2 locations and both are equally great. This is a family owned business and they believe in quality and service. All the flavors are sooo good. I especially love their frozen yogurts. Loads of nuts, bits etc. in every bite. This place is worth seeking out for ice cream treats or soda fountain drinks. All the customers have smiles on their faces here.

Patti's Pierogis

Reviewed By John G - Greenport, New York, United States

We were in Fall River on Columbus Day weekend to do the Lizzie Borden House tour and stopped at Patti's for lunch afterward. We learned about the restaurant on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives and believe me, their segment does not do it justice.

We had five of us for lunch, four adults and our 11 year old son and we were all over the menu. I had the 12 pierogi platter with butter, onions and bacon (and yes I ate them all), My wife had a platter with pierogis, kielbasa and a golumki (stuffed cabbage). Our 11 year old had the pierogi minis wrapped in bacon and the other 2 adults in the group split a platter of 12 assorted pierogis. Every on raved about their meal. Truth be told, they were better than the pierogis grandma used to make. The homemade kielbasa was lean and tasty but (in my opinion) was light on the smoke.

If you're in Fall River, don't miss this place!

Somerset Grille

Although some people may say that the Somerset Grill has an “old” clientele this is exactly where one finds great food at a great price. I particularly love going there on Thursdays and Fridays because on those days they feature fish on the menu. From the baked Haddock to the Salmon the meals are prepared beautifully and you have the choice of homemade sides including my favorite, beets!

You can get Turkey dinners, fish and chips or meat pie for under ten dollars and they are all excellent! It is my favorite restaurant for that “the way Mom used to cook” experience!

Sam's Bakery

The meat pies are a great idea to bring to a party! I know people from outside the area who buy bunches just to freeze for another time because they're not lucky enough to live close by. There is meat, Lebanese (meat with yogurt), chourico, and veggie. Place is usually mobbed because it's so good. I always see customers in the parking lot eating one as soon as they get out of the building.

I have visited the ice cream barn a few times this summer. It is a great place to visit. The ice cream is great-there are many wonderful flavors. Also the waffle cones and bowls are fantastic. The serving sizes are tremendous. There are lovely places to sit and have your ice cream-very tranquil. Overall the Ice Cream Barn is a nice place to visit-the ice cream is great-the servers are friendly, the atmosphere is lovely and the prices are very reasonable. I would highly recommend-nice for children.

We ate at Venus de Milo 20 years ago, and we still remembered the fantastic baked stuffed lobster. Leave snobbery at the door folks, this dish is perfect and delicious from the first bite to the last. There is nothing like it! We were very happy to discover the dish is still perfectly executed in the new Empire Grill. Service is excellent - friendly and comfortable. You'll be well cared for, body, soul and stomach at the Empire Grill. And get the baked stuffed - you will not regret it. Cocktails are strong and the wine list is nice too!

Wanted to try SAGRES based upon excellent reviews. My husband was born in the Azores and loves octopus, and tonight, there was an octopus special on the menu! Excellent! We also had appetizers: Shrimp Mozambique and Littlenecks in Garlic and Oil. Plenty of crusty bread for dipping!!! My husband said the Portuguese Soup was excellent (better than his Mom's!!). Our waitress, Andrea, was EXCEPTIONAL!!!! Oh, don't leave without trying dessert, and if you like Flan, the Flan Cheesecake is FABULOUS!!!!
