Alongside the highway it is too easily passed by as just another quick roadside place, but no. The homey atmosphere and Southern homey food are good quality. No frills but reliable (this was third visit) and the best bet (although more of a drive than we'd like) when you are antique hunting at the great shops in nearby Clinton.

Rickard Ridge BBQ

Reviewed By BBDY - West Milford, New Jersey

We were traveling south on I-75 when we stopped in Caryville for the evening. Looking for a local restaurant, we were directed to Rickard Ridge BBQ. We are glad that we did.

The food was great, the views of the mountains were terrific, the wait staff was friendly and efficient, and there was even a local musical group for entertainment.

Good food and good people. Who could ask for more?

Coal Creek Smokehouse

Upon entering even a table of customers waved hi. Everyone was very friendly.

They have seven homemade sauces at each table. You are given a plate and small spoon to sample the various dressings. All are gluten free and the people even know what gluten free means....not so in many restaurants.

All of the food was good and economically priced. The home made Cole slaw was like I remember as a child.

Love eating at the Sweet Cafe. Try to get there once a week. Everything I have tried so far is really good. Burgers and fries are my favorite. Burgers are made fresh from hamburger meat from the grocery store next door, Archer's. The fries are the best ever! The prices are a little higher than a fast food place but well worth it.

Harrison's Restaurants

My husband and I had been to the nearby Walmart looking at marked down Christmas merchandise, when we noticed the sign at Harrison's was advertising a special on burgers and fries. We decided to give it a try. We were very pleasantly surprised at how good the burger was and that it was fixed exactly as we had requested. Our waitress was courteous and efficient, the food was really good; the only downside was that I still don't have a Christmas tree for next year.

La Fiesta Mexican Restaurant

Reviewed By milepoint - Rocky Top, Tennessee

Yes authentic Mexican food. Lived in Texas 12 years, traveled to more than a dozen villages and cities across Mexico. This is good stuff. Some stuff is Tex-Mex, some Americanized, still good. There are some things I wish they had on the menu but we can't have it all. The chili rellenos are to die for. The plates will satisfy the biggest appetite. The fajitas are as good as any I've had in the southwest. If your traveling La Fiesta is just off I-75. It's within walking distance of at least 4 motels. If your camping at Norris State Park it's just down the road and a nice break from the camp fire.

Cracker Barrel

Reviewed By norme-ormond - Ormond Beach, Florida

My wife and I stopped here for lunch and found the restaurant was not very crowded and we had an easy and quick lunch. Service by Angel was excellent, however the dining room greeter, Adrianna, seemed to have no personality. It was, "How many, follow me" and no smile or anything. I watched her while we ate lunch and I never saw her smile and it was like a forced routine. I didn't see a manager to make a comment and decided to write this review because most food at Cracker Barrels is pretty consistent...but not the service..

Was extremely surprised with his restaurant as we stopped in while traveling after a pit stop to Wal-Mart next door. The food was fantastic and had a very good authentic taste to it as well. Huge portions at a reasonable price and everyone enjoyed their food with most of us splitting meals between two people with still plenty to go around! Great cakes for dessert as well!

After hearing many mixed reviews about this establishment, I decided that I would just go and try it for myself. I'm a huge fan of BBQ, so I was really looking forward to the experience. I have got to say that the food did not disappoint. While it is a small and humble restaurant, the meat packs a giant punch. With two simple options of sauce, regular or spicy, you really can't go wrong. I got a regular sized pulled pork sandwich with a can of Pepsi for $4 even. You will not be able to find a better deal around. It is located relatively close to the interstate as well. A short three or four minute drive through Lake City down Main Street and you're there in a flash. If you're passing through whether your with your family or some friends, or even by yourself (like I was today) I definitely recommend stopping by for some good tasting and very fairly priced BBQ.
