we stopped briefly to use a restroom and bought some coffee- an americano and a green mountain latte. the coffee was good- unlike much that we encountered in the northeast. impressively, though inconvenient, both were still too hot to drink 15-20 minutes later!

bathroom was clean and staff was friendly. nice atmosphere and the food being served agt breakfast looked and smelled delicious. we will definitely try to stop and eat next time we are in the area!

Heather is one of the best bakers around. The bread, pizza and desserts are fresh and unique, using locally sourced ingredients. On busy Wednesday and Friday nights seating can be challenging since there is usually great live music.

What a warm, homey atmosphere! They greet you at the door with a glass of champagne. You mingle with 20 other people around the chef's station as he places hors d'oeuvres in front of you. You watch him make dinner in the open kitchen area. Then you sit down family style with the other friendly guests as they serve the most delicious 3 course meal you have ever eaten. It is definitely a unique dining experience!

We had 2 dinners catered by The General Store for our 22 person Family Reunion at Amee Farm Lodge in Pittsfield. The first evening we chose sandwiches, salad, and veggie platter as individuals were arriving at different times. I received many, many compliments on the sandwiches which included (at our request) Gluten Free as well as Vegetarian options. The veggie platter was the best I've ever experienced. Expecting a platter of carrot and celery sticks with a bowl of ranch dip, we were treated instead to baby radishes, asparagus, kohlrabi, .... and 3 different dipping sauces!

The 2nd evening, we had roasted chicken breasts w/ potatoes and vegetables as well as a vegetarian lasagna. For dessert, we had cookie platter the first night and brownies & lemon bars the 2nd evening.

Food was plentiful and we enjoyed sandwiches for lunch the next day and the rest of the lasagna and salads for our final evening.

The quality of the food was fantastic and price point was very good as it would have definitely been more expensive for our group to eat out in a restaurant.

We've been coming to Pittsfield in the summer for two years now and hadn't tried the Clear River Tavern before, but we will definitely be back.

The place is cute, comfy, and the folks who work there are super nice. They were fast, efficient, and attentive. There was a small issue with our order but it was pointed out to us before we even knew it, and the bill adjusted without being asked.

The food was good, we were very happy and we will be back because all was tasty and we were truly appreciated as customers. A+++.

Swiss Farm Inn

Reviewed By Teacher-DRP - Boston, Massachusetts

OK. The Swiss Farm Inn is an inn with a few rooms and a breakfast room below. We were whizzing by on a autumn foliage tour of Vermont, after having stayed in nearby Killington, and the sign "World Greatest Breakfast" not only caught our eye but made us turn around and go back to partake of this superlative experience. In all honesty, I have had several "world's greatest breakfasts" in several diverse places, but this one was certainly up there and "world's greatest" is a rather subjective evaluation anyway. There may be a wait, but the proprietor sees to it that everyone gets seated as soon as possible. You may have to share a table, as we did, but Vermont people seem very friendly and sanitary. Actually, our table guests were teachers (as we used to be) from about thirty minutes away and gave us some great directions to some side roads to see some great autumn colors, so it ended up being a win-win situation. My wife and I decided we would like to return and stay at the inn. I already have fantasies about waking up in my room and smelling the breakfast being prepared below.

We ate at Casa Bella the evening we checked in. Normally the restaurant would not have been open that evening, but the B&B had assured some other guests they would be available, so they added us in. As we checked in to the B&B Franco (the chef part of the ownership team) took time to review the menu and to make sure that we were satisfied with our selections. There were no complaints! Pricey, yes, but probably one of the best meals I've had at a restaurant. Salmon (Sicilian style), Lasagne, and noodles for our12 year old - along with appetizers and salad, all very exquisite, served with a personal touch. If we are back to this part of Vermont we will make sure to eat - and stay - at Casa Bella again!
