Norske Nook

Reviewed By Steve H - Madison, Wisconsin

Stopped by the Norse Nook today for lunch. Actually, I should say breakfast, because that is what we both ate. Hard to mess up breakfast, but our eggs and omelette were very good. Also, ordered a cinnamon roll instead of toast. It was the largest, gooiest cinnamon roll I have ever seen. Very tasty, but couldn’t finish it, even with a little help from my wife. They are known for their pies, but unfortunately we had no room. Maybe next time. Service was excellent.

Moe's Almost World Famous Diner

Right off Interstate 94 just south of Eau Claire

Reviewed By Doug B - Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States

Any time we see a sign for "broasted chicken" we rush in--as that style of cooking chicken usually results in very moist and delicious chicken. However, today at Moe's, the breading on the chicken was too thick and added nothing to the chicken in terms of flavor. The iced tea was not very good, and the mashed potatoes and gravy that accompanied the chicken were disappointing--with the gravy tasting like something from a can. The creamed corn was, also, boring. The chili fries were a bit like a French poutine and were the best item we had.

Dairy Queen

Reviewed By Lee L - Cambridge, Minnesota

I like that it's attached to a gas station. We had a large order so it can be easy to make mistakes but we had multiple ones. They were quick to fix and upgraded the sizes (but they even got one of the fixes wrong). The staff was very friendly and apologetic. The toast at this DQ was awesome! Also the gravy from the chicken strips was so good! It's usually thick and more lumpy...this was smooth and good. It could be because it looked like my mom was cooking in the back and not some bored teenager who could care less...I'm giving it average because it's a pain to have to fix things multiple times when traveling with kids and we've been on the road for eight hours already!

Northwoods Brew Pub

Reviewed By beerwriter - Indian Harbour Beach, Florida

An early 20th century dairy plant was turned into a brewery combining a production facility for bottling and canning beers with a restaurant serving those excellent beers and making very good "pub grub". The decor resembles a hunting lodge, and features pool, pinball and (appropriately) a "Buck Hunter" video game. Friendly staff also make it worth a stop traveling between Milwaukee and Minneapolis.

Osseo Family Restaurant

Reviewed By Michael H - Charlevoix, Mi.

My first time here my food was really bad. I decided after a few months to give the restaurant one more chance.

I ordered lasagna and it was absolutely disgusting. The meat looked like it was protein from a can, the canned Marinara sauce was really bitter and the whole thing was really sour and tasted terrible.

There was no sign of Ricotta cheese anywhere to be found. Meat shouldn't have the consistency of paste, overwhelming green pepper flavor and multiple layers with nothing in between. I specifically asked of the lasagna was made in house and if it was good. I was told yes. Obviously they might have boiled the noodles and assembled it here but NOTHING else was cooked here, all canned or bag.
It's disappointing because I really wanted to like this place because of the staff but after 2 bad experiences I won't be back

Staying at the Super 8 Motel and the weather didn't allow a drive out for dinner. The front desk recommended that I call Sweet Temptations and order their pizza for delivery. I did and it was very good. Certainly, not excellent. But good. Also had them deliver one of their red velvet cupcakes which was delicious! The lady who runs the place apparently also makes the deliveries. She is quite nice.

This restaurant is extremely convenient off of I-94. It's replicates a sitdown 50's 60's diner. It is one of the cleanest restaurants that I have been in with a very cool and fun decor.

The food: excellent with prices to match.

If you are looking for a fun and different place to eat with quality food and good prices...this is a do not miss opportunity.

This was a meeting point as it was half way between the two locations people were driving from. When I pulled up it looked like a worn down Mcdonalds from the late 1980's. When I walked in the door it was the new style McDonalds with the more modern looking seats, tvs, and booths. It was clean from what I could see of it.

The food is the same as any McDonald's so you know what to expect there.

The service was kind of strange. They had three people taking orders but it seemed that the staff could not keep up with the orders coming in. It was also strange to see a manager taking orders but she did nothing else. She would take the order and then just stand there while everyone behind her scrambled to get the order complete. She did not even turn around to check how things were going. I just found this strange from a manager who didn't even go get the salads for the order in front of me but the person taking customer orders next to her went and got them. Just got a very strange vibe from someone that was wearing a tag saying manager. Another thing that was strange was that a worker had to continue to walk through the ordering area to take orders out to drive up customers. On several times she had trouble getting through the people that either were waiting to order or were waiting for there order. Once again this just seemed a strange layout.

Overall it was fine as far as McDonald's go and you should know what to expect when you go there.
