Located on the Penobscot and Stillwater rivers, it was first settled by Europeans in 1774 and named in honor of Chief Joseph Orono, a sachem of the Penobscot nation. It is home to the University of Maine. The town's population was 10,362 at the 2010 census.

We spent too much money for a nicely flavored but skimpy lobster stew, and fried clams that were mostly coating. I got the runs from the lobster stew a couple of hours later, and my husband had to chew antacids from that fried coating. Too bad about the food and over-pricing. The hostess/server was very nice, and the atmosphere was nice and simple with a pretty river view. Can't think I'd ever want to return, though.

Stopped in late on a Wednesday night. The place was very busy but we got seated right away. Place has a great menu and beer selection. They let us try some sample beers which was wonderful. The burgers were great, the fish and chip were okay. The chicken Florentine Alfredo was good also. The service was very good. Next time in the area I will be stopping to try some other things.

My first trip to an Aroma Joes I was impressed with the cleanliness of the front end and restroom! The staff wowed me with their kindness and patience. I ordered a banana and a pumpkin latte, it's not the best I've ever had nor is it the worst. I would visit again, although I think I would try a coffee.

We recently visited Pat's Pizza and we enjoyed it every bit as much as the first time we went a few years ago. I love the character and the old style counter/stools, and the fact that they actually have (and use) a dumb waiter! There were four of us and we all ordered pizza, and everyone loved it!! They do such a great job, and it isn't greasy; and lots of ingredients so the full flavour comes through. We would definitely go back again!

Terrific breakfast menu. Homemade hash was delicious. Stuffed French toast with blueberry sauce was yummy. Great pancakes! Restaurant has a great relaxed vibe with a neat outdoor seating area. Looks like a great bar environment. We will be back!

Like the atmosphere at the Longhorn, friendly staff, very attentive. The food was excellent. I ordered a small fillet which was done to perfection, (medium rare) and was delicious. I'm not giving them a high rating because there wasn't much else on the plate. Two choices for sides, I picked a baked potato and a salad. Next time I go I'll be ordering something extra because it really wasn't enough.

All food is fresh and for the most part organic, as well as meticulously prepared. Very clean. Wonderful friendly service. Good lunches and quick dinners but also breakfast, too, which is even more welcome now that Pat's is closing for breakfast. Love the breakfast burritos best of all, especially the one with lox! If you love burritos, you'll love this place!

Great for a pizza/calzone where you can see/feel the history of it upon visiting. Calzones are large and very good for only $9 each. Deanne was very hospitable and provided excellent recommendations for our meal when visiting U-Maine. And a unique twist was that they made their own bottled sodas.
If we're back in Bangor, Maine we will stop by again
