What a disappointment tonight. The server was the worst we have ever experienced. I have to say that previous owner's service was not the best but it should not be worse than before.Hi this is the chef owner of the chef's table restaurant, could you please tell me what went wrong in the service aspect? Did you enjoyed the food

Good food, Jenny was an attentive server. Texas cod sandwich was spicy with jalapeños. Very tasty. Sweet potato fries were very good. The bartender pours a good pint of Guinness. What more could you want? Thanks for the review! We will let Jenny know of your kind compliment.

This is a upscale place without having to drive close to Newark. The seafood paella was excellent with a large portion of good quality lobster. Portions arer huge. However, branzino (whole or filet) was just average. Service for a large group of 10 was excellent. Prices are about 25% above places closer to Newark. A tartuffo dessert was excellent.

Very friendly staff and quick professional service make this Starbucks standout. Every time I go I am greeted with a smile and friendliness from the staff. They've given my dog cookies several times at the drive through and always seem happy to be working. Drinks are made well and very quickly.

Oakland Diner

Was in the area for my best friends wedding, and we wanted to meet for brunch before we drove back to Canada.

The groom suggested this place, as his cousin works here. As soon as we pulled up, I knew it was going to be great. What a busy place on Sunday mornings!! The wait wasn't too long....after we put our names in.

All of the staff were exceptionally friendly, especially with kids. Everything on the menu looked delicious.....if I had the money (& the appetite), I was tempted to order everything on it. Haha. But both my husband and I settled for Huevos Rancheros because neither of us have ever had it before. It was delicious.

I wish this place was closer to me....or me to it. But then again, I don't wish it.
, because if it was, I'd be spending every meal there. Haha. Will definitely be back again.....even if I have to drive the 8+ hours to do so.

Found this place a few years back when passenger asked gas attendant where to get coffee and he suggested next door. Was finallyoffered a portion of bagel after we were well underway. Was to die for! Made mental note to get off Exit 58 / I-287 next bunch of times through. Really rivals bagels from the City. And I can jump in there early and easily back on the road since they are cookin' at 5 a m. Close at 3.

Went for dinner with group of 7 and generally enjoyed very good quality food., Appys terrific- esp. bruschetta & calamari, main course fine except for a chicken w/peppers which was drowned in a black, impenetrable sauce. We had issues with couple important items. Parking is a nightmare! Shame on Oakland zoning board for approving this usage-small strip with multiple stores with close to zero parking. Even though the Café had valet service (G-d only knows where they get rid of the car) it is close to impossible to pull off the busy, dangerous Rt. 202. Very annoyed also at the unannounced, unadvertised mandatory 20% tip which is secretly built into the check with the tip line blank so unless you notice that, it would be easy to double tip! They also apply the 20% factor on sales tax also which is unheard of. When I complained, the waiter said that is the way the management wants it. I understand that for big groups, a fixed % tip is reasonable but THIS MUST BE CLEARLY SPELLED ON THE MENU! Shame!

Oakland Pizzeria Restaurant

I'm pretty picky about my pizza. I don't care for thin crust pizza, and that deep dish stuff they make in Chicago isn't really even pizza. And don't tell me that the best pizza comes from New York. Anyone who really knows pizza knows that the best comes from New Jersey. And not that greasy stuff you get down at the shore, either. Generally, the best comes from northern NJ, and the best of the best comes from Oakland Pizza.
I grew up a few towns away from Oakland, and got to know all of the good pizza joints. Some of the top contenders, like Lenny's in Ridgewood, are no longer there. But Oakland Pizza continues to thrive, and has expanded in size over the years. Although they are true pizza experts, they also serve many fine sit down and take out dinners. For a few years, I worked a few miles from there, and would stop in for lunch on occasion. Their meatball parm hero is also one I'd highly recommend. But the pizza is what kept me coming back. Their sauce is perfect. They use the right amount of cheese. I don't know what it is about the dough and crust, but it's just perfect. Put it all together, and you get an unforgettable pizza.
I no longer live in the northeast, but every time I come back to visit, a stop at Oakland Pizza is a must. You simply have to try it!

JD's Deli and Grille

Reviewed By robcurtross - New York City, New York

We've been eating at this Irish themed diner for the six years it's been under this ownership, and it is always a pleasure. Last Friday was no exception.

The waitresses were filled with funny comments making my usually dour son smile despite himself. It's great fun to sit at the bar and gab with the help, but we were doing business, so sat in a corner table. There are two lines of tables, close together, but doable.

The fish and chips appealed to us both, and the fish was perfectly prepared -- crunchy on the outside, warm and comforting on the inside. Neither of us care for their large cut potato fries -- they need to be a bit smaller and cooked longer -- a modest negative.

Oakland is really lucky to have two excellent diners, one at the north end of 202 -- this one -- and one at the south end -- the Oakland Diner. Both great.
