A friend of mine and I wanted to grab a quick brunch. We stopped here. Appeared to be a little hole in the wall off the beaten bath. What we found inside was amazing. The staff was great. Great service. Amazing food. Huge portions. Cheap prices. Must visit if you're in the area.

This isn't just any ice cream. This is the best ice cream ever! Every single flavor they have is made right there. They have frozen custard, yogurt, sherbet and sugar free options. They are known for their black raspberry. They always have different options that change constantly. They are only open from April to September and it is so worth the wait for opening day! Some of my best childhood memories are of coming here with my family.

Located in downtown New Castle area in the Riverplex building next to Neshannock Creek. There is a parking lot across the street that has free spots in the center lanes (the outer spots are permit spots). The shop is in a really nice part of a mostly empty building. Lots of natural light with huge windows on both sides of the shop. A nice view of Neshannock Creek and outside seating available next to the creek as well.
They have a pretty extensive menu of pour over coffee and specialty lattes. They also have about 5-6 whole bean coffees that you can have ground to take home. I have come in about five times to buy some dark roasts for my wife as a gift and she has loved each bag I bought.
There are also some biscotti, cookies, and muffins. They seem to have partnered with a catering company called the Dirty Pickle which serves unique sandwiches, sushi, and ramen from 11am to about 2pm. I tried their chipotle chicken sushi. It was very tasty.
They have free WiFi with easy access. Comfortable lounge furniture and tables/chairs along with generally low volume music makes for a good place to read, do some work, or even make some phone calls.
And to top it off, they have a fantastic staff that are really down to earth and friendly.

Each time I ate here the food was fresh and service was good. To my surprise I when I ordered the Mahi Mahi it was delicious. I also enjoyed some pasta dishes during some of my other visits. No complaints at all. The restaurant was large, but seemed pretty quite.

We recently flew into Pittsburgh from Salt Lake City via Houston (pre-flood) and were headed north to visit family. Already tired and hungry from our travels, we decided to try Hugger-Mugger Tasty Recipes, a restaurant I had scoped out on-line before the trip. Our server, Jessica, was friendly and informative when asked for suggestions about potential dinner entrees. Although HMTR lacks a "signature" dish as far as we could tell, Jessica guaranteed "you can't make a bad choice" and "we will fill you up." In perusing the menu, it was a pleasure to see the highest price item was $10.99 and that was for the Maryland Crab Cakes. Most entrees were in the $6.99-$9.49 range. We ordered the Crusted Chicken Parmesan ($8.99) over Cavatelli pasta with salad and homemade breadstick; and the bacon cheeseburger ($8.00) with onion rings ($1.00), The chicken parm was well-prepared with a mild marinara and lots of cheese. A little extra garlic would have been perfect. The bacon cheeseburger was delicious and the bun stood up to the burger, unlike many which wilt in juices. The onion rings were a disappointment and not crispy. You won't break the bank to eat at HMTR and Jessica was right - it was very filling!
