Los Portales has been a favorite Mexican restaurant in Murray, KY for 20 years. Locals come for our authentic flavors, and stay for the family atmosphere. Everything at Los Portales from our recipes to our decor is authentic. We use recipes that have been passed down in the family, and our restaurant is decorated with pieces from Mexico. All of our dishes are made using the freshest ingredients, so there is no better place in Kentucky for true Mexican food!
Very nice, clean, upbeat atmosphere. We arrived here for dinner. The service was great and we liked the entrees we ordered. The chicken taco salad was tasty and so were the mixed grill fajitas. We will definitely dine at this location again.

I love grabbing some Dairy Queen in the summer- be ready to wait in line... it's a pretty popular place! It makes sense why too, delicious treats await!

Always a great stop for good breads, bagels, and CINNAMON ROLLS!!!!!! It is a have to stop when you are in Murray. It makes up for the lack of everything else not downtown.

Unlike most coffee drinkers, I like my own concoction of caramel sauce and milk in caramel flavored coffee. Coffee shops are usual too strong, bitter, or sweet. They made it perfect. And the cinnamon crumb cake was super delicious.

We visited Dumplin's for lunch. Located near the campus of Murray State University, the restaurant is tucked in a small strip shopping area on 12th Street, not far from the downtown area. The menus contain a selection of sandwiches, soups, salads, coffee, beverages, and glorious desserts. During our visit at lunch, the dinning area was nicely packed, small tables in a cheery atmosphere. We ordered a variety of dishes: Turkey swiss sandwich, a couple of trio salads, and desserts. The sandwich served on an incredible doughy bun was simple. The salads were tasty, plentiful, and with fresh ingredients. The desserts were outstanding. I ordered a chocolate chip cake with a superb icing. My friend selected a Leomonberry Cake, and it too was superb. A third member of our party picked a Lemon Icebox pie. No complaints on these confections. All accompanied by great coffee, freshly brewed. It is a lovely spot for lunch or dessert in a college town.

Let me start by stating that I usually avoid drive throughs. I'd rather park and walk inside any place than deal with the poor service you usually get in a drive through. This DD beats them all. The young woman at the drive through spoke clearly, repeat my order and handeled my special request with no fuss. If ever in Murray again, I'll drive through here for my coffee.

It reminded me a lot of Dunkin' Donuts, but I'm assuming this is a local place. Nice Decour inside and pretty good choice of donuts. The particular donut I had was not as sweet as some donuts I've eaten before. Glad it was covered in chocolate.

Thanks to trip advisor for this find. Pizza by the slice and honey butter for breadsticks was a yummy find. Only a few places to sit and eat though. Also beware hours.....only open til 8pm even on Friday nights. Super friendly young staff offered up suggestions though and prices were reasonable. Seems to do a big takeout business. Counter service and seat yourself on paper plates type of place.

If you want one of the best burgers in town this is the place to go! Local owned and operated. Small restaurant where local people from the community meet to drink coffee and grab a bite to eat. Prices are reasonable by far. As a matter of fact they are better than most fast food places and you get real meat!

Granted we visited with family on a busy Saturday night but still... we were seated in a back room among several very loud freezers and coolers right next to a raw meat cooler. They were so loud that none of us could carry on a conversation. We asked to move to the regular dining room, apparently this was upsetting to the staff but was done in fairly short order, however the normal friendliness of Murray residents was out the window going forward. The food was OK but nothing special and somewhat pricey.
