I ordered a birthday cake for my daughter's 7th birthday. The cake was beautifully decorated, and delicious on the inside - two layers of chocolate with raspberry jam in the middle. Everyone very much enjoyed the cake. The woman I spoke with on the phone and the man who I picked the cake up from were both very friendly and helpful.

Lake Ridge Restaurant

Wife and I first went to Lakeridge back in the day when there was an enclosed porch/deck - today, space is actually the second dining room. But the point is that we've been going there for many years, and we go back because it is dependably outstanding.

Our most recent excursion was on our son's birthday. We had called the day before to book a table - necessary because this is a very popular place. We were seating in the main dining room with a nice view of the fireplace on this cold January night.

Service was outstanding - waitress was friendly and efficient.

Wife is not a beef person, but she went out of character to have the small filet offered as part of the special 2018 menu. She reported that it was outstanding.

Son (a trained chef) had the seafood stew - a mixture of salmon, scallops, mussels and shrimp in a garlic safron tomato broth. It was great fun watching him devour that dish, and then sop up the leftover broth with some of the excellent bread.

I had one of the daily specials - grillled Chillean sea bass served with a fig compote and arugula. Simply to die for!

Lakeridge is not a cheap restaurant, but it really is a great place to go on special occasions.

Most of our recent visits have been at noon (they offer a nice luncheon menu).

In addition to the point about booking ahead, another issue to be aware of is parking. Lakeridge is located in the quaint village of Round Lake, and parking is a challenge. There is absolutely no parking on the narrow streets! If you have lived in the area for a while, you may recall that the main street through the village was the link between Interstate 87 and Route 9. Today, there is a bypass around the village, and the speed limit on the main street has been reduced dramatically. There is also a stop sign at every intersection to try to control traffic flow through the village. Lakeridge does have a number of spaces in front, and there is a lot behind the restaurant (that can get icy in winter). There is a church across the street that has a parking lot that is available most evenings, but it is about a block away. Even through efforts have been made to manage traffic, it is important to be careful since you must walk along that main street, and there are no sidewalks.

Sushi Thai @ the Park

With a skeptical companion in tow we tried Sushi Thai on a Monday evening. Very nicely decorated, busy but what a nice surprise- not loud! Cocktails were ordered, served as requested & fairly price. Our dinners were Tofu Himmapan (it is listed as Chicken but the kitchen was more than happy to change to Tofu) and a yellow chicken curry. Both were deemed excellent. Skeptical companion says he wants to return! Our service was excellent, as I mentioned the noise level was low, food was delicious- a return trip is in our near future!

The food is fresh, tasty, and well prepared. The restaurant is clean and the service very good. I particularly liked their chicken Noodle soup ( pho ga), summer rolls (goi cuon), and half crispy roasted chicken (ga quay).

She talked me in to getting up early and going to breakfast and I gave in. I do not do the big breakfast thing however The Ugly Rooster was amazing. We has a simple omelet, Italian French toast, and sides of home made corned beef hash, loaded hash browns and sausage. Everything was amazing and in no way were we able to finish the portions. The waitress was delightful as was the cook. Again breakfast is not my go to meal although this place is worth gong back to over and over. The prices were incredibly fair especially when seeing the portion sizes.

The minute you walk in this adorable little establishment you feel at home. The smells alone make you nostalgic. It's chocked full of tasty, fresh, homemade one of a kind desserts. Lunch is varied and the quiches the best! My cousin makes a 45 mile trip every week to eat here just for the quiches. There are hot soups in the winter and the best sammies around.

I need to remember that their portions are GENEROUS! I adore their soft ice cream and once again had too much food at dinner so I had no appetite left! Ordered the hot sausage sandwich, which was on authentic Italian torpedo roll and the sausage was HOT and spicy AND it came with a huge order of french fries all for a mere $6.95. Hubby had the fish and chips with a light crisp batter and another VERY GENEROUS portion.

Next time I think I'll indulge in the ice cream and make that my meal! I wish I lived closer but 34 miles round trip is a little too far for an ice cream whimsy!

We all ordered some items to share: poutine, buffalo chicken quesadilla, mozzarella sticks and garlic parmesan boneless wings. Everything was excellent-the quesadilla was probably the best I have ever had. The poutine could have used more cheese curds.
Our server was excellent and kept our water glasses full the whole time.

This is not a restaurant. It is a "hole in the wall" that serves great food. You call ahead and order and then pick up. No delivery. Great fish frys, onion rings, potato salad. They also serve burgers, French fries and pizza.
