Love going to D&J Bistro. Have been dining here for over 18 years - never disappointed. Enjoyed lunches and dinners at this wonderful little restaurant. Great ambience. The food is excellent. When we walked into this bakery and cafe, there was a mah jong game going on at one table; and a young couple planning a special event with the owner, Irena, at another. The bulletin board was covered with thank you notes from grateful customers.
We ordered the daily special (choose two from these three: 1/2 deli sandwich --1/2 salad -- cup of soup) and we very pleased. We were expecting the free kolaczki (it's featured on the menu), but we also tried the house turtle cookie -- chocolate, pecan,and caramel perfection.
They are closed on Monday.
They are located in the Deerpath Court Shopping Center -- plenty of parking and shopping (Wal Mart, Jo-Ann, Sears hardware, etc)

Went here on a Saturday night. Place was crowded but there were still plenty of empty tables so I got seated right away. Got the Fajita burrito, it was delicious! Like one of the best burritos I've ever had. Chips it came with were good too. The margarita was OK, but was a big size for the price which was good.
Service, it started out fine. However when I had finished half my burrito and all of my margarita, they only asked if I wanted a box for burrito, not if I wanted another drink, which I did. Well, if they wanted me to leave and not give them more money, then I was happy to oblige them.

A wonderful place for breakfast. It can get very - very crowded on weekends and particularly on special occasion dates. Adequate parking. Meals are generous and always are made fresh and served hot. We’ve always experienced good service. Pricing is moderate for breakfast items.

In town for a wedding, we tried Sushi Kushi 4U with some trepidation on Friday night and were so happy that we returned for Saturday lunch. The sushi at dinner was the happiest part of the experience. Quality was good; it was easy to avoid the Americanized cream-cheesy stuff and order truly Japanese-style sushi; and the menu even included some relative rarities (sea scallop, for example, and blue-fin tuna as well as the ubiquitous yellow-fin) that are normally found in far pricier and more urban environments. Service was excellent and the ambience very pleasant. If we ever return to Lake Zurich, we'll definitely return here.

This is an updated review. The food is still five-star....with the added pleasure of being able to dine outside. They have those tall, standing heaters, so I'm hoping they'll be able to extend the outdoor seating season a bit.
The alcoholic drink menu includes the Cinnamon Special, which is vodka, whisky, and apple juice. They can also make a mojito or mai tai for you...or pour a glass of merlot, cabernet sauvignon, pinot noir, pinot grigio or chardonnay.

Would definitely have given 5 stars if bartender had been the least bit friendly or personable. This was the only drawback. Restaurant service was very good and very friendly, Food was OUTSTANDING. Try any of the schnitzel dishes. Authentic spaetzel and German potato salad. Sausages are terrific. Nice atmosphere. Limited beer selection could definitely be improved (This is a German place after all) but what they have compliments the food nicely. We will definitely be back.

I have passed many times koffee kup, and decided to stop for breakfast.. From the time I walked in and sat down at the counter, the service was very friendly. I ordered French Toast.It was excellent, not dry and excellent in texture.The interesting thing the door indicates they open at 5;30am M-F
Need to try it for lunch as they make fresh soup every day. Lunch menu looked great.

We eat here on a regular basis. The burgers are great, made from grass-fed beef, and cooked exactly as you ask! The service is always very friendly. Craft beer selection excellent. Only a few wine choices - but it is a brewpub!!
