Longfellow's Restaurant

We stopped in last night after a recommendation from the hotel.
The food was wonderful. I had the baked Nova Scotia scallops with rosemary mash and a side salad and my partner had the beef tips with the mash and cheesy broccoli. Both meals were delicious. If you have a salad I recommend that you have the homemade blue cheese dressing which is amazing.

This is clearly popular with locals (always a good sign) and with good reason. The staff are friendly staff and helpful. They are attentive without fussing over you.

They open for lunch and dinner so if you are in the area make sure you have a meal here.

The atmosphere is cool, very old fashioned, felt like in an old ladies living room. It is. great place to stop for breakfast on the way to Sugarloaf. I had an awesome breakfast sandwich, made with local ingredients. The pastries and cookies looked yummy!

Delicious food. We had a freedom fattie, (they make whatever they want, it ended up being steak, rice, and sweet potato), a falafel fattie, two drinks, and tortilla chips with guacamole. The food was great, but the burritos were a little small, maybe 2/3 the size of one from Moe’s... enough for a meal, but not enough to really make you full. The restaurant also had board games, and was set up for an open mic. I will definitely visit again the next time that I ski Sugarloaf.

This is one of the first restaurants we went to when we first got to Stratton for our month. We weren't very hungry so just ordered a small Pizza to share. It was very good. The menu has a large selection to pick from, especially if you want Italian. I didn't notice if they GF pasta or not since we were looking at Pizza.

Great pizza!! I asked for all veggie pizza broccoli, artichoke hearts, tomatoes, fireroasted peppers, mushrooms, carmelized onions and there wasn't any area that you could see the dough beneath. Chock full of what I asked for rather than sprinkling of these ingredients. Best place on the mountain to eat. I'd rather eat at the Bag and Kettle every night than Widowmaker.

Stopped for lunch. Had chili, chicken parm sub, grilled cheese with tomato and Turkey club for four people. Open kitchen-watch them make delicious food. Generous portions. Parking lot full of Maine license plates. Great food, clean, great value. Friendly staff . Make homemade desserts-blueberry pie , raspberry pie, huge cookies-but we didn't have room. Serve breakfast and lunch.

Three of us came for dinner and drinks. Friendly staff, funky, vintage ski-themed decor.
There is ground floor and downstairs dining. We were seated downstairs. I ordered the Chipotle Blue Cheese Burger ($13- 8oz. Angus burger topped with crumbled blue cheese and chipotle pepper ranch sauce, lettuce, tomato and onion and pickles and served with french fries). Huge, delicious and the french fries were amazing! Jillian our server was sweet and FAST! My companions' meals looked fantastic as well, especially the gigantic slab of fried haddock on the fish sandwich! If you go to Sugarloaf, this is a must-stop place!

Just 15 minutes before Sugarloaf you will find this quintessential diner. The food is very reasonably priced and delicious. The have fantastic (and large) omelets, eggs, sandwiches, salads, etc. Omelets are served all day and they have plenty of gluten free options. We have 6 people in our party and EVERYONE was pleased with their meals, including the kiddos. Headed to the loaf? Stop in on your way up!

I have eaten here multiple times. It is a charming Victorian home. The menu is interesting and varied, but a little on the heavy side.My recommendation is that a few lighter items be added to the menu.
