Six of us ( 3 senior couples ) and all neighbors, that live on the same street, ate lunch here ( at Glencoe) on Friday. Was really surprised that it was not overcrowded. As everyone ordered several different things, heard no complaints and we all were pleased with the food and service. I have only experienced one item that I thought could be different and that is the lasagne. It is made with Italian Sausage, but I feel like the amount of Italian Sausage overpowers the dish itself; I would use less Sausage, because it seems to be more on the chunky side. Otherwise, we have never had a bad meal. Got to say that my very favorite is the Mediterranean pasta. Love everything on the menu, but wonder if having menu ‘ specials ‘ on certain days might be an idea ?

Ordered 48 cupcakes for an office Christmas party from them. First they looked worse than the ones on display. Icing half on. Worse the tops were hard and over cooked. The red velvet were actually hard and flaking off.i called as soon as I heard from Co workers. Spoke with Chris. Was asked if they were moist inside and if they were that the tops were how they were supposed to be. Really!so I guess we could have scrapped off the half way iced icing, remove the hard top and replace the icing... This was EMBARRASSING. I spent a lot of $$ and got half quality cupcakes. Chris was so kind and said I could bring them back in and they would replace them. Really Chris...if they were not wrong then what are you going to replace them with???? And be reasonable, am I suppose to collect them back out of the garbage after the party??? I drove 29 miles one way from work to purchase them. I apologized to coworkers and made sure the Co workers knew where they came from. The cupcakes were over baked and not fresh. Don't waste your money. Too expensive for the poor quality.

We drive over from Georgia after being told about this place. The posted hours said they open at 4pm (Alabama time) on Saturdays. We arrived about 10 minuets till 4 and was surprised to see so many people already inside.
Josh was our server and after bringing drinks and taking our order brought out a cast iron skillet of corn bread, tub of cole slaw and some white onions. To be honest, could have made a meal out of the slaw and cornbread! We both ordered popcorn shrimp. Lightly breaded and tasted great! We had a ton of left overs and Josh brought us the standard take out boxes... plus a container and lid for the slaw and a bag to put it all in! Did someone say “slaw dogs” for dinner??? We took pictures and sent to friends. They want to come next time! We will try to arrive early and get a window seat to look at the river!

Tucked away in an unassuming building. Don't let that fool you. Inside is wonderful, fresh, flavorful food. I have had pineapple rice, it was so tasty and fresh. The basil rolls with peanut sauce is amazing. The coconut cake lives up the hype. This last time I tried the chicken curry bowl. So creamy and delightful. I love being able to get full and be healthy at the same time. We came once really close to closing time never once did feel rushed. The decor is simple but fresh as the food.

From the time we walked into the restaurant until we left, the staff make this a dining "experience". The food was cooked to perfection and the presentation of the food was fantastic, this is a fine dining restaurant with a casual touch. The atmosphere is friendly, the decor simple, understated and tasteful. The salads were delicious - my husband had the "greens" salad and I had the Caesar and both were crisp, the dressings light and flavorful. We had the crab cakes for an appetizer and they were the best I've had in a long time - cooked and seasoned to perfection. Our entrees arrived at the table cooked to perfection and very flavorful. Emily, our server was attentive without being overbearing. The table was "turned" after every course so you don't have to have dirty dishes on the table while waiting for another course. Dessert was cheesecake and sorbet - both delicious. I am so glad BLU opened in our area, they are FANTASTIC! I purchased a gift certificate for a friend and the manager personally took care of this for me - He was also at the door when we left, thanked us and shook my husbands hand and told us to drive safely - A nice personal touch.

The best steak in Gadsden. My 8oz. filet cooked med-rare and my wife's 8oz. filet cooked medium were phenomenal. The steak is the apex of the experience. While the restaurant is quaint and nice, the presentation o silverware, food, basket of salad crackers plastic cups with garnishments, store bought rolls, etc. are not what I expected when I walked into a white linen table establishment. We shared the crab/shrimp dip with chips which was very good. Salad was salad, nothing special. Loaded baked potato was good, again nothing spectacular. They did serve "Sister Schubert" rolls, which I love, but is not a fancy restaurants usual bread choice. The strawberry butter served with these rolls was GREAT. Our waitress was very sweet. The menu was very limited. Would go back simply for the steak..... the steak was perfect.

The Fish Market

George Sarris founded The Fish Market in Birmingham more than three decades ago. When he expanded to Gadsden, protege Charlie Hayes came to get the fledgling establishment on its feet. In short order, Sarris entrusted his brand to Hayes, who tailored The Fish Market concept to suit the needs and desires of his new "hometown." Tableside service, a booming catering business and partnerships with local producers are a few of the ways he has made The Fish Market part of the landscape of Gadsden. Corporate citizenship is an important part of The Fish Market's community commitment. Hayes and his staff, several of whom have been with him since the restaurant opened, host a shrimp and crawfish boil each May that benefits the James M. Barrie Center for Children, the local child advocacy center. Food is central to this story, and Hayes and his team bring in fresh seafood from the Gulf to ensure quality dining experiences. A variety of steaks, chops and salads means everyone can find something they love. The Coosa River is just steps away from the patio, and Good Time Charlie's Oyster Bar has the feel of a neighborhood pub. Come experience The Fish Market, and help us write the next chapter in our story.

They also serve meat and good steaks, but at this place you have to go for fish. Was here already a couple of times and it was always good. The atmosphere is great and the staff friendly. There is also an excellent choice of beers, with a couple local ones. The portions are big and I can recommend crab dip and grilled scallops. You have a choice of sides, but the Greek potatoes are great. Not very cheap but the food very tasteful.

We went early at 430. We got seated immediately. By the time we left, they were waiting out the door. Loved the oldies music playing inside. Lots of families, couples and seniors. Good food and friendly atmosphere. Will visit again for vegetable plate or barbecue.
