The Cherry Hut

The Cherry Hut was established as a roadside pie stand in 1922. The Krakerfamily used it as a means to distribute homemade cherry pies made from fresh cherries out of their orchard. Later, in 1937, the Cherry Hut moved to its present day location on US 31 in Beulah, MI. Throughout its long history the Cherry Hut has always been known for its homemade pies and jams. Owned by the Case Family since 1959 The Cherry Hut continues to supply smiling faces by serving food and shipping cherries year round. A Northern Michigan Tradition Since 1922.

I come here whenever I'm in the area, which isn't often .Kind of an unusual way of ordering, with different entrees that can be ordered dinner style (with soup, salad, dinner roll, cinnamon roll, entree, vegetables, potato AND dessert) or lunch style with fewer options. We had cherry BBQ pork dinner style and were stuffed full. (And we like to eat a lot!) The food is good as is the service. Near the Platte River campground.

Roadhouse Mexican Bar & Grill

This is a small restaurant so even though we were there late in the season, we had about a 30 minute wait. My husband enjoyed his chorizo quesadilla and my Cabo Salmon was amazing. Matt was extremely courteous and his service was excellent. I loved their ships and homemade salsa and was served the strongest skinny margarita have ever had! :)

Crescent Bakery

Reviewed By Ronmsparks - Coopersville, Michigan

One of the few eateries open year-round in this lakeshore town, the Crescent serves breakfast and lunch offering sandwiches and soups in addition to a mouth-watering array of baked goods. I stopped in for just a donut and coffee at about 1pm. I thought the baked goods selection was a bit depleted but had no difficulty finding something to satisfy my sweet tooth.
Overall, I would say it is a bit pricey: mine cinnamon roll was $1.65. But the bigger cost was a cup of coffee: $2.75! And I'm not even a coffee drinker :-( Anyway, it was a nice treat.

Lighthouse Cafe

Excellent breakfast with very good omelettes and a varied menu. Veryreasonable prices. The "Shipwreck hash browns are a must. Also serves lunch, but the wait for a table is at breakfast time. Opens at 6:00AM, and unlike many up north restauarants, they are open all year. The wait staff is OK, but not great and the ambiance is not the best. But the food is worth it !

Reviewed By kskeener4 - Wood River, Illinois

When we travel, we love to find the small diners where the locals eat. This is one of those gems. Enjoyed the special hashbrowns and had plenty of leftovers to share for breakfast in the RV the next day.

Dinghy's Restaurant & Bar

Casual family restaurant famous for in-house smoked meats including Dinghy's famous ribs. Fresh soups daily. Pulled pork BBQ sandwich, French dip, Sandwich of Your Dreams, salads, steaks, and the legendary Betsie Bay Burrito.

Great service and great food. Four of us had a variety of dishes....burrito, taco salad, grilled cheese of two kinds and all were excellent. My choice was grilled American and bleu cheese with smoked chicken, pickle and avocado....try it! Had been here in July and enjoyed it just as much....that is why we returned.

Cabbage Shed and Waterfront Pub

The Cabbage Shed is a water front pub that has the character and flavor of an "up north" establishment. There are fresh, local food items including our fish tacos, and 1/2 lb. Shed Burger. Live music is a staple on Friday and Saturday nights. Our waterfront patio and tikki bar allows for boat access. Having a wedding, party or event here will bring family and friends together for a party you'll never forget! Memories are made here, and you'll always want to be at "The Shed".

Petals and Perks

Nice local coffee shop, really the only one in Frankfort. Open all winter. Offer free wifi. Mochas are very good, much better than crescent bakery version. Try the one called "Benzie eye opener" it is very good with an extra shot of Expresso and a dab of cherry flavor. 90℅ time service is great but they have one employee that doesn't smile and can't make a mocha to save herself. You will know her if she isn't smiling. Try your chances though.... worth it when she isn't there (besides there is no other real coffee shop in town lol)

Relax by Betsie Bay on our covered deck, while enjoying fresh local cuisine, fine wine, a full bar, and Michigan drafts!

Reviewed By PennDale - Coopersburg, Pennsylvania

I was part of a group of seven women, including a friend that lives in the area. She had never been here because it has a reputation as one of the more expensive restaurants in the area. We were happy to treat her and enjoy some very good food. All of us chose fish. I had the whitefish that was featured that night and it was perfectly cooked. A friend had the tuna and was concerned that it would be overcooked, but she said it was also cooked just right with the perfect seasonings.

After our main course we chose to share five of the desserts and managed to eat them all! All were very good. Service was especially good and our server was friendly and professional.
