Cheeseboard Pizza

Reviewed By dwisland - Saint Louis, Missouri

Cheeseboard is a happening. Music changes daily as does the pizza. No choosing toppings, no delivery, no worries. What fresh and organic combination of cheeses and veggies they choose is always amazing. Our latest visit offered butternut squash on the pizza, the visits before than had peaches. Don't let the daily toppings or the huge line deter you - this is verifiably one of the most popular pizza places in America. And, always ask for a side of Green Sauce ($4 and worth x

Fatapple's

Reviewed By 2017sue2017 - El Cerrito, California

Fatapple's is both a bakery and a restaurant. We have been going to this local favorite for years for basic comfort food like traditional breakfasts, burgers and fries, spaghetti, chicken pot pie, fried chicken, BLT sandwiches, fish and chips, and more. The food is always fresh and satisfying. The pastries, pies, quiche, and cakes are REALLY delicious, and the last time I went, they were starting to offer delicious gourmet pizza that was selling out before the end of the day. The place has an open, airy, warehouse ceiling, and large windows provide a nice view of the small businesses across the street. You can expect a wait for weekend breakfast and lunch. You can also expect friendly service!

The view is great and the restaurant is nice. A little run down but overall still in decent shape. The service was good although at points felt overwhelming.... This is a place that still grinds pepper and grates parm on your dish. The food was very good and apparently made not in mass but to order.

Bowl'd Korean Rice Bar

Reviewed By FarmerRK - Moraga, California

Two of us went for dinner early one week night. The restaurant quickly filled up with lots of families, mainly non-Asian customers. We were hoping for a nice reasonable meal but were totally disappointed. We had Mung Bean Cake -- tasteless, the sauce that came with it tasted like dilute soya sauce. The Jahp Chao (transparent noodles) had no spice at all; did not eat it but took it home and spiced it up with sesame seed, soy sauce, little wine, and then it tasted good. The Korean Miso Stew was just average. The Banchans (small side dishes) were subpar. All in all we were totally unimpressed. We understand that it is a popular restaurant because of its prices and the quantity of food served but the flavoring was not at all truly Korean. The service was efficient; the ambience is fine, but the most important thing is the food and that was not good. One of us is Korean and the other has travelled in Korea a lot.

Rivoli Restaurant

Rivoli strives to be a hands on, moderately priced restaurant with simple and creative food, carefully selected wines and comfortable service in a warm and lively atmosphere. Rivoli’s distinction comes from the heart and soul of its owners and staff. The menu relies on what is seasonal, local and fresh, using mostly organic produce, sustainably caught fish and naturally raised meats and poultry. The wines are selected for their affinity with the food, and offer the best values from the cooler regions of California and the Old World. The dining room staff provides friendly and attentive service and the chefs and cooks are skilled artisans of their craft.

Came to celebrate another family birthday at a favorite local spot.

Wendy Brucker's dishes continue to deliver time after time. Especially liked the lobster souffle and lamb ragu over house made ravioli.

For those who haven't been here, expect delicious food and great service in a cozy dining area facing a lovely outside garden.

El Mono

This is a great little Peruvian place. People who know Peruvian food think this is the best place around. The Peruvian potato dishes are superb. The ceviche is very tasty and the large kerneled corn authentic as is the cold sweet potato served with it. The Peruvian popcorn not so much. However, the anticuchos of beef heart were disappointing. People who had the lomo saltado were satisfied. The portions were huge. The service was ok. Bottom LIne.....when you want Peruvian cuisine in the Bay Area....El Mono is the place to go.

I shopped for all of my breads when I lived in Berkeley and make it a point to stop by when visiting now. Acme has--hands down--the very best breads. I always get their Olive Bread, Foccacia, and Cinnamon Rolls to start with. But everything there is delicious. Expect to wait in line most anytime you go and with the small parking lot, you will probably have to park on the street somewhere close by.

Assemble

Located in the magnificent former power plant of a Ford automobile factory, the Boilerhouse serves fresh, fast, local, delicious food on the waterfront. Enjoy exceptional value, great tastes and, of course, our amazing view of the San Francisco skyline and the Bay. Most simply, our concept is Slow food flavor at fast food prices. We invite guests to grab a quick healthy meal on the go when they’re hiking the Bay Trail or taking a break from the office--or to stay as long as they like and enjoy our waterfront setting while they linger over a meal and drinks. Boilerhouse recipes change frequently to reflect the season and the plentiful local markets. We use local, all-natural ingredients, and organic when possible. We serve lunch, pub, dinner and brunch, all under $10. We welcome your feedback as we are constantly developing and improving. It's wonderful to be part of the Bay Area community, and to be bringing new crowds to the historic Craneway, the birthplace of Rosie the Riveter.

We went to Assemble for brunch and had a delightful table outside overlooking the Bay, Brooks island and distant Oakland. The menu was somewhat eclectic; egg dishes that one expects with brunch, along with New Orleans favorites (beignets and shrimp and grits) and comfort food (chicken pot pie). The cocktail menu looked interesting as well. Only disappointment was the service. It may have been our particular server - but it seemed understaffed and we had to wait quite a while - even for water and coffee.

We ordered a half baked deep dish for take out. We got the Spinach and Mushroom which was a hit. This pie includes spinach, mushrooms, cheese and tomato sauce. This was easy to finish baking in the oven at home. With gentle treatment the crust stayed together and sat on the rack just fine.
