Passed through on a Sunday afternoon and decided to check this place out. The post-church crowd piling into Shep's was a strong indicator that we were in the right place. The Sunday buffet offered fried chicken, pork chops, roast, red potatoes, mac & cheese, sweet potatoes, brown beans, greens, cornbread and finally peach cobbler. A super friendly staff and some major talent in the kitchen makes this a must when anywhere near Dumas!

If you stay at the Days Inn, Dumas, Arkansas you must go next door to the Donut Palace for the donuts, ham & cheese croissant or a "pig in a blanket" (it is a hot dog surrounded by the best dough). Everything the bake iS light and tasty. A bag of donut holes to go is the best!

Taylors Steakhouse is located in an old grocery/convenient store that was remodeled into an up scale Steakhouse.Taylors prime beef is dry aged,wet aged,and cut on premises.Although Taylors has upscale food,the atmosphere is laid back.The interior was designed to have a industrial look.NO white table cloth.NO need for suit and tie.Just casual dinning! We were visiting the area and decided to eat here. Most of the reviews were very good, even though there were only 9. If you are from this area and you like this place, great. If you are from out of town, don’t be fooled by the glowing reviews. First of all, if you want to charge these prices, a certain quality of service should be provided. We were a party of 9, were seated immediately at our reservation time. An hour later our order had not even been taken. Our waitress was overwhelmed, and was not attentive, glasses were constantly empty. The appetizers we ordered, shrimp cake and cheese dip ( more like cheese soup) were marginal at best. When a member of our party ordered a beer, he was told he could get it out of the cooler himself, instead of being properly served. The salads were plain with low quality croutons. My husbands dry aged ribeye was dry, over cooked and fatty. He ordered Medium rare. My filet was average. The bill was ridiculous!! Oh, there were no prices on the menu for the steaks.

Best Chicken Fried Steak I have ever had! We had to call them because they are about 4 miles south of Dumas not IN Dumas like the directions said. What a delicious home style meal! And the staff were extremely friendly. You can bet we will stop there again when traveling through Arkansas.

We typically eat here on our way through South Arkansas on long road trips. The waitstaff is always super friendly and very attentive. Pizza is fresh and yummy. Love the pepperoni and taco pizza.

We stumbled across El Toro on our way home from vacation. The food was really good, the restaurant was clean and nice. Staff was very friendly. I've seen others complain about the prices but we thought they were reasonable. Would definitely stop by again!

We're Mexican food fans and were stopping overnight in Dumas Ar -- right up the road was El Torito and we had dinner there with friends. GREAT Mexican dining with personal touch. All dishes appear plentiful and ours was very tasty. Service very good and ambience nice. Many TV's around.

A Sonic is a Sonic. Decent food but it is not cheap. Service was good, food average. You know exactly what you are going to get a Sonic, so you can be sure of what you will get.

Get the fried catfish and hush puppies. Bathrooms were spotless. Staff was friendly. Parking lot was full of truckers but didn't seem like a truckstop. My wife actually used the restroom there and she said it was a+.
