Terry B's Restaurant & Bar

Reviewed By frenchfiona - Howell, Michigan

We were excited to try this place as it was recommended by a couple that eats there regularly. Probably won't follow their advice again! We ate out on the deck, which was nice. An elderly couple were playing a xylophone and electric guitar & singing. Hmmm ok I guess. Anyway, we ordered two starters- duck confit poutine for $15 and scallops for $16. The poutine would have been delicious if it wasn't for the pound of salt on it. The scallops were absolutely fantastic BUT you only got 2. For $16. Really!?! Next we had the tempura battered whitefish. I didn't know that whitefish came in a perfect rectangle shape. You get one rectangle with salty fries for $21. It wasn't good either; mushy inside. Next we ordered the coconut cake for $8- sounded good with the carmelized pineapple etc. Instead of getting a nice piece of cake, we got a long skinny plate with two small cubes of coconut cake, a half scoop of ice cream, a few waffle cone circles and some scattered pieces of carmelized pineapple- all laid out in a row. Deconstructed cake? The pieces were good except for the coconut cake, which tasted previously frozen. The good news is that our service was EXCELLENT! The bad news is we paid $136 including tip for this meal with cocktails. We will not return.

This downtown bakery is extremely popular with bicyclers, old guys, high schoolers, workers, and many others. Old time atmosphere to sit inside or out to enjoy the coffee and pastries of all kinds. The Apple Fritters are the best I ever tried; you too could get hooked. They are also very community oriented, most recently donating dozens of donuts to responders at a large fire near town. They deserve much support.

Kids liked it when they were younger. They got a kick of eating inside the car. Then we got a new car! Ain't no way I'm letting those disgusting little slobs eat in it. Food is average fast greasy food.

What can go wrong at a DQ in the summer? Everything was great, lots of seating outdoors and plenty of parking.

Nice small town feel in charming community. Several designer holiday coffee drinks available. My S'more Mocha tasted like hot chocolate- did taste the marshmallow. But it was a nice winter drink. Chocolate chip cookies were fair. Nice staff. Cute place. Prices seemed reasonable for a specialty coffee shop.

The Aubree's story begins in 1972, when Bill and Sandee French opened a little corner bar in Depot Town, Ypsilanti. Throughout the years, Aubree's has grown into the full service restaurants we are today. We not only want to exceed your expectations of quality, service, and atmosphere, but our hope is to be deeply rooted into the community by being active in supporting local schools, charities, and organizations. Our community has helped shape who we are today, and will continue to determine who we are in the future. Our goal is to provide top-quality meals at a reasonable price in a casual environment. We operate our restaurants with integrity and respect, and we do it in a personal way! Our customer needs are our top priorities. Our extensive menu includes gourmet pizza, fresh baked breads, salads, pub sandwiches, burgers, and other comforting entrees. For us, it will always be about combining gourmet flavors with the right balance of indulgence and nutrition. In this way, our guests can enjoy Aubree's in a way that fits their mood and style of living.

Aubree's has turned from being a place where you could get something a little different in Ypsi to a chain restaurant, fairly reminiscent of Applebee's or Chili's. I will say the bar is a bit better and it is a decent place to watch a game. They usually have a few craft beers on tap and the wait staff is friendly. However, the Gordon Foods based food is the same as most other "family restaurants." It is predictable and you shouldn't get a bad meal, but just don't go expecting anything that is going to knock your socks off.

Hotel Hickman

Reviewed By cathysnowwhite - Jacksonville Beach, Florida

Visiting family this week in Michigan I found this "tiny building" in down town Dexter with a fabulous take out menu. We ordered pulled pork, brisket and chicken meals which include sides of mashed potatos, coleslaw, baked beans. The potatos were doctored up to be AWSOME and beans were spicy. What a fantastic barbecue surprise! I highly recommend the Hotel Hickman. FYI it is across the street from a park that is a great place to bring your carry out dinner.

Dexter's Pub

Reviewed By Phyliss B - Canton

Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon. We had never been to the Dexter Pub before, but after this experience we will DEFINITELY return!
The pub has about 5-7 booths, quite a few tables and more seating at the beautiful bar.
The menu has many choices from appetizers to complete dinners.
We ordered the special ( a meatball hoagie
$7.99) and the Easy Street Burger $8.24.
Both came with fries, for a small charge you can order sweet potato fries or onion rings.
Beer Special (Bud Lite) was $2.50
Diet Pepsi was $2.50
Both the meatball hoagie and Burger were delicious, cooked to perfection!
The pub offers daily specials!
Truly great pub!

Sushi Time

Reviewed By Brian C - South Lyon, Michigan

My wife and I visited Sushi Time in Dexter on a bit of a whim. This was our first visit here. The restaurant is a bit small, but there was ample seating when we arrived. The waitstaff was very attentive at first, but seemed to disappear after we received our food. This meant empty dishes sitting on the table and no drink refills. The sushi and rolls were very good and they offer a very wide variety. There were things on the menu that I have never seen anywhere else. I thought the prices were a bit high as dinner for two cost about $60.
