An amazing dinner! Each course was amazing. Palette prep spoons were a very nice start. Breads were soft and fresh Popcorn crab was perfectly battered and fried. Enjoyed them even without the sauce. The filet and ribeyes were both great with distinctive tastes. Ribeye was a bit overcooked but still incredibly flavorful! Brussel sprouts were amazing with lots of bacon. Mashed potatoes were smooth and buttery. My accompaniments of sweet potatoes and onion were great and complemented the steak. Wine was reasonable priced and a good partner to the steaks. Very impressive but overwhelming wine list. Chocolate dessert was beautiful and tasty. I don't like white chocolate but the caramel version was amazing. The cotton candy was fun and a great finish to a perfect night. Ambiance was good but we had very loud tables around us. Service was great. Very attentive from the whole cast, friendly and fun. Enjoyed our time with them before restaurant got busy. Would definitely go back for a special occasion.

The Fish Market

Our second restaurant, opened in 1979 in the heart of the Silicon Valley, has been as popular with local residents as it has with the business crowd. A comfortable and spacious cocktail bar adds to the energetic atmosphere of this casual dining restaurant. Be sure to arrive early for the counter seats at the oyster bar, as they fill up quickly.

The Fish Market is one busy and lively spot. Staying nearby, I stopped in on a Saturday evening. There would have been quite a wait for a table, but I was seated immediately at the counter, where the menu was the same, and the service excellent. I had a big bowl of clam chowder, and then an abundant portion of the recommended steamed clams, both excellent. People around me were smiling big time over their various dishes: paella, pasta with seafood, grilled mahi-mahi, and more. A fine choice in Sunnyvale!

Aqui

Reviewed By Joachim73 - Espoo, Finland

We had dinner here with some colleagues after having read the reviews. The entry to the restaurant is a little like a fast food restaurant where you need to order directly from a big menu and can be a little confusing and slow. The food is good with good tacos, bowls and nachos with good sauces. In terms of drinks we had the industrial strength Margaritas. I don't know what to make of that, whether I loved the drink or hated it. The drink stayed cool in subzero for close to an hour and it was very difficult to drink and was very strong. Weird but worth the experience.

We used to relish Phool & Tamaya in Cairo for years. Last 5 years I was searching for a Felafel shop in Bangalore - tried one but did not like it.

Found one in Sunnyvale recently but did not like the readymade felafels, during our first visit - by comparing it with Cairo stuff.

Yesterday we tried Felafel plates and made our own Felafels! Yummy we liked it!
Will try once more before returning to Bangalore!

Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar

Relaxed, lodge-chic chain serving global comfort fare, including stir-fries, pot roast & pastas.

So this place is attractive with easy access to parking. My friend and I sat at one of the bar tables - no problem and enjoyed the beer selection. The food was really just OK. It's a big menu and we had a carrot appetizer and one of their pizzas. Both sounded interesting and like good creative options. For us, the carrots were sparse and the pizza - one of the spicy ones really overdid the hot chili oil. I'll return if I need a place in this neighborhood to meet for a beer.

Gochi Japanese Fusion Tapas

Reviewed By Monica L

We tried many tapas dishes at this restaurant and we have several we kept on ordering ~

Hotate Tomato - very light and soothing. The mild tasting scallops paired well with a light tomato broth and pesto yuzu drizzle- a wonderful combination.

Curry Koroke - deep fried curry potato balls. Very light and not at all greasy.

Gyuuniku Maki - One of our many favorites! Panko crusted beef rolls with
asparagus & cheese with hatcho miso sauce.

Risotto Korokke - Mushroom risotto puffs with shiso-pesto-tomato sauce. Risotto done just right!

We tried several Gratins and Pizzas! The combinations were interesting but nothing special.

Sea Urchin Clay Pot Rice has been on our must order list. However, this is definitely not for everyone.

As for the raw stuff, we kept on ordering the Hamachi yellowtail, garlic-ginger-ponzu and chopped jalapeño drizzled with garlic oil.

Besides all the above, we tried their special of the day dishes. There were some hit and misses.

The food has been consistently great but the ambient of the restaurant is in desperate need of some updating.

Orenchi Ramen

Reviewed By Josephliyen - Calgary, Canada

Had lots of great ramen in Japan and around the world, and orenchi is definitely up there in terms of its quality. The tonkotsu is rich and flavorful. The noodles are slightly thicker and chewy. The pork belly has a good balance of fat and meat, not too fatty. The appetizers could be better though. Just stick to the ramen.

The Mandarin Gourmet Cupertino

Reviewed By Traveler-O-World - Flagler Beach, Florida

In the Silicon Valley area, for many years, we have been patronizing the Mandarin Gourmet located on De Anza Boulevard, Cupertino - not far from the Apple Headquarters. For our get-together of friends this restaurant remains a favorite among the multi-location Mandarin Gourmet restaurants. Parking is available adjacent to the restaurant. The seating and ambience is cosy and comfortable. The service is friendly and swift. A place recommended for solo, couples, family, friends and business meals.
Wish the restaurant had a bit extended hours in the evening.
On this occasion we, a group of six, friends and spouses, had gone for dinner on a week-day. The large number of diners was testimony to its popularity. However, as we had made table reservation, we were shown to our table on arrival. We ordered for our favorite dishes and some more. The food was very good, tasty and flavorful. All of us had an enjoyable meal.

Armadillo Willy's

Reviewed By Brian W - Port Orchard, Washington

The moment you enter the restaurant you are surrounded by the wonderful smell of smoked meats. There are lots of seating options here, for one or even a large group. The interior is warm and fun with a couple of TV sport running continuously. On this trip I ordered the TriTip sandwich. TriTips are kind of a California specialty. Low in fat and really flavorful. This one was smoked to perfection. The bun had been grilled and had a lovely crust on it. The sandwich came with raw onion and pickles, but I skipped those and the great selection of BBQ sauces offered because I wanted to savor the fabulous meat without any distractions. The meat was superb, moist, full of flavor, a lovely hint of smoke. I had the cole slaw as a side and it was one of the most unique renditions that I have ever tasted. More of a chopped cabbage, with a nice amount of heat and it was a perfect compliment to the sandwich. I definitely want to go back and try more of their menu
