This place has decent food and decent (though not amazing) wines. The location is very nice, with a grassy area and a bridge and ponds out back. There is an outdoor bar that occasionally has live music.
The server was friendly and efficient.
The food is not something you'll be writing home about, but it was a good meal at a fair price.

Only gave it a 1 because I had to do a review. We went here because of it being on the lake. But was very disappointed to say the least. Building is a nice building but when we went in we were not greeted by anyone stood there for some time before someone finally acknowledged us. Multiple waitresses had looked at us but no one said a thing. The building inside smelled awful of fried foods. We opted to sit outside due to that but also because it was a nice evening. When we were sat at our table we were told they had no menus available but the hostess brought us some quickly. Then we sat and sat waiting to be waited on. Finally a waitress came over asked if we had been waited on. We said no and she said oh ok well I will go ahead and wait on you. We ordered both our drinks and meals. We waited and waited. The table behind us got their food. They had come in about 10 or more minutes after us and the waitress had taken their order after ours. Kinda frustrating. As we sat there waiting for ours to come out we realized multiple tables were having issues. I told my husband I am not sure I have ever heard so many I'm sorries from waitresses. Finally we got our meal. We both ordered the catfish. I would have to say for as long as we waited you would think it would be hot and fresh. Wrong. It was barely warm my fries were cold and everything was very very very greasy. We had to go in to ask for ketchup and our bill when we were done. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Sorry we went for the lake view.

Came by for some of the famous Italian Ice Cram Gelato... What a great flavor this stuff has!! Also had their Strawberry Grilled Chicken Salad. AWESOME!! Neat little place on the downtown square! Another place to remember!Gtan, The gelato is indeed something special! We've offered it since 2010 and it's been a local and county wide hit ever since!! Thank so much for the feedback. John

Stopped in for lunch. Pleasant surprise. Small cafe and bakery in old house in Carlyle's 'business district'. Like dining in your grandmother's dining room. Friendly service. Superior food. Homemade soups, fresh baked bread, quality meats, in-house bakery goods and desserts. Worth a trip to Carlyle. Breakfast and lunch til 3. Dinner W-Sa only til 9.

After reading reviews for this restaurant we decided to try it out since we were heading to Hazlet State Park for some hiking. One thing that was omitted in the reviews is that there is no indoor seating. They have picnic benches near the building and on the Sunday that my wife and I were there it was a beautiful fall day so eating outside was delightful. The brown bag special is the way to go. Pulled Pork sandwich, a bag of chips and a 22 oz.(?) fountain drink for $5, incredible value. Sandwich was excellent, not to much sauce on top and a nice sprinkling of dry rub. Would definitely go back!

Wonderful food with a variety on the menu!! I suggest the bbq'd chicken or as my husband requested "a big, dumb, and sloppy, Philly Cheese steak sandwich!" Everything has always been delicious from the Home Plate and the prices are very affordable which makes it even better!!

I have eaten here twice. It is a nice, local place. Very casual, nothing fancy, they are very nice and it's a very clean place. They have a small bar. The menu's are on the table, when they are busy, you go up to a window and order. When they are not, there is a waitress who comes around and takes your order. They have special's listed on the wall, when it sells out, the item is erased.

This is the old style pizza hut building the inside definitely needs to be updated and remodeled. Toilets even when they clean them Looks dirty they are old. Now as for the food. . . it's depends. On day you will get a ok pizza the next it's not fit to feed a dog. Big issue is with the pan pizza if you get lucky the crust will be done with a slight crisp to the edges. If unlucky, raw In middle of pizza with only edges done. Seems all pizza huts have had this issue with there pan ever since being bought by the Yum Yum corporation. The same goes with the overall toppings on pizza one day fine another hardly anything on it. We only order a pizza when we have a strong craving for a pizza. Its like gambling you never know what you will get. Unfortunately there is no other choices in town and just like gambling you normally wind up the looser. Pizza hut years ago was great just like Kentucky fried chicken and Taco Bell, but they are all owned by Yum Yum corporation and have turned into corporate garbage.

This is a no frills good old fashioned burger bar. The burgers were huge and definately more than I could eat in a sitting. The staff was very nice. We will definately return here the next time we are in town.

Located very close to Carlyle Lake and just feet from Camping and Lodging on Carlyle Lake, The Wheelhouse Grille is the perfect location to meet for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner. Come out for All You Can Eat Fried Chicken Thursdays or All You Can Eat Fried Fish Fridays.... The Breakfast Buffet on Saturday and Sunday Mornings or the Brunch Buffet on Sunday starting at 11am. A bucket of Fried Chicken to take on the lake is delicious... Tae two!!

Great location, but understaffed. Took some time to get someone to take our orders and then they were out of what I wanted (Gyros). After the friendly waitress took our lunch orders, both with salads (those could've been sent out to us to keep us engaged) we never saw the waitress again. Then she approached the table behind us and the patrons complained about the time it was taking and she said they are behind in the kitchen. (There were only six other groups here!). We figured we'd be spending $34 on a lunch that was going to be very late in arriving. I don't have that kind of time to waste. I see by the other reviews that I'm not alone in what I observed.
