Used to be my favorite restaurant in Albemarle. No longer. The food is still good but the service is horrible. We were there for over an hour before we got our entre. They didn't have the beer I wanted and ran out of my second choice after only 1. The beer selection is very limited. The cost is way too much for the experience.

Glory Beans Coffee House

Our first time here, and enjoyed the uniqueness of this Coffee House. The barista was very accommodating, and our beans were not burnt as so often are in many places. We were able to talk over the music, which was softly playing, and the establishment was clean and had lots of room to sit and talk...their options for regular drip coffee were many, and no complaints there either...give it a try! Right down the street from "Off the Square"...within walking distance...

Lots of options. They could use more comfortable seating...but it was kool. There's not really much to comment on ---it's about 10 yogurt flavors with about 50 topping combinations.

This place is superior to the other local BBQ joint! Food was good meat moist not dried out. Sides were tasty and nicely seasoned. We got take out and the tantalizing aroma almost caused us to pull off the road to eat before we got home. The inside is clean and was very busy when we arrived. Most of the tables were full. Our order arrived quickly in spite of the lunch rush. Everything was as ordered and was very tasty. Can't get into the red slaw but that's a personal thing. Potato salad was great. Try the corn dog mini's something I had not had before. Overall a very good experience. Still don't understand why these places didn't have any ribs or chicken quarters/halves...

Thai Spice and Sushi Bar

Reviewed By 2mdoves - Charlotte, North Carolina

The restaurant is small with limited seating, two tables for 10 and about 6 tables for 4 and 2 for 2 so get there early! We arrived at 6:00 pm on a Sunday and it filled up shortly after. I had the Thai cashew chicken with pineapple. It was delicious with perfectly cooked vegetables of green and red peppers, onions, carrots. The sauce was great although a little salty for my taste. My husband had the green curry with chicken and raved about it. It was more of a soup with rice on the side and it had a smooth complex flavor with a nice hit of heat at the end1 Delicious. We also had a California roll which was average but good. Ambiance was OK , very casual.

Very clean restaurant, with excellent service. Salsa was good...would be nice to have a spicier version. My meal was good (mushroom quesadilla) with fresh mushrooms. Could have used more cheese as I thought it was a little dry. I would recommend this restaurant.

Jay's Seafood Restaurant

Reviewed By 2mdoves - Charlotte, North Carolina

We went there the first time on a Saturday night and the place was hopping. The food from the buffet was hot and delicious and everyone was pleased. No ambience but lots of variety and well prepared typical fish camp food with a few exceptions . The second time we went was on a Friday night and we entered from the back of the restaurant. Big mistake! The musty odor of the carpet and the lack of cleanliness around the buffet area ruined my appetite. Sadly the food was not as hot that night either and I did not enjoy it. I might give it one more chance but it would be on a Saturday night when the turnover of dishes is quick and everything stays hot.
