Lovely friendly local pub great food and drinks and brilliant staff it may be off the main road but its always busy.The landlord and his wife are very welcoming and always take good care of their customers lovely place. Look forward to going again.

Sitting out enjoying some autumnal sunshine looking over the fast-flowing river Dee was a delight. However we sat inside in the original bar room with a blazing range; cosy and atmospheric.We enjoyed devilled kidneys and fish cakes from the light bite menu, and I also had some very tasty oysters. Looking forward to returning for a full evening meal. Only reason I didnât award 5stars is Iâd like to see how it rates for dinner on a busy night. Do go though, the refurb has been sympathetically done and there canât be many other pubs with such a lovely setting .Hi there,Thank you for your recent review, we're delighted that you enjoyed your experience and like the refurb.We're keeping everything crossed that we get 5 stars on your evening visit.

Although it can get a little loud and lively, I think the atmosphere is great for a get together. We have had birthday meals, work Christmas outings and just drinks here and have never been disappointed. They have a good number of staff so you are never waiting too long for service. The food quality has always been excellent and it's good size portions/value for money.

We stayed at the premier inn opposite. On the first night had an evening meal where Suzanne took our order and looked after us well. She was very pleasant and helpful. We had breakfast the following day and WOW that was the very best breakfast weâve had in any of the premier inns and in any other hotel we have stayed at. The staff again were so pleasant and helpful. We had another evening meal where yet again another well cooked great meal and Jake and Kori being so very pleasant and helpful. The following day we had another fantastic breakfast so it wasnât a one off the day before. Well done one and all there. Excellent food and excellent service. We will call into see you again. Look after these members of staff they are irreplaceable.

Very bland and extremely dissatisfied with the level of service by staff. Paid the best part of £75 for a meal with our friends and we all left hungry. Tried to give feedback to staff after paying the bill and we were greeted with shrugged shoulders and being spoken about by the staff who were all just standing around as we walked out. Really wouldnât recommend if youâre passing by!

The very good is about the young waitress who with her colleague anticipated what we needed . Food wise , although l loved the presentation , everything was rather overcooked and particularly the lamb roast and accompanying veg . Sure this will be resolved soon if enough of us again give this place a go after so many managements .

We visited on Friday evening. The place was full and buzzing, but the service was excellent and the meal was lovely. My wife and I both had the Steak suet pudding with vegetables. I asked for different vegetables to that shown on the menu, and this wasnât a problem. Great service.

We were staying under canvas locally, and when we saw the weather forecast, we asked if we could change our booking from Thursday to Friday. They managed to squeeze us in, and I was so pleased because the food was excellent. We had a lovely meal that we all enjoyed, and if we lived more locally, we would certainly visit again.

Well it was Monday and I fancied beer and food so it had to be the classics dishes in the Nags Head.After looking at the menu for ten minutes I decided to have what I had last time the Steak pie and chips and my girlfriend had the lasagne,the food came within 15 minutes the pie was excellent yet again and the lasagne which can be a bit of a let down in many pubs was excellent,all washed down with a couple of pints of stella.Will be back that is for sure.
