We were part of a small group tour which stopped in Leenane for a break. The Irish coffee was superb, as promised as was the service. Cozy, friendly pub for a pit stop and a memorable place as well. Nice fire in the fireplace at the end of March,too.

Always one of our favorites that has gotten even better. Damien Joyce, the owner/manager has made some improvements with a small remodel that gives more seating for those listening to the great local entertainers. They have early and late sessions so you can see great local entertainers early or late into the evening. The pub has a great mix of locals and visitors making for a fun evening. Super selection of Irish whiskeys and local beers on draught, including superbly poured Guinness! A donât miss venue for anyone visiting Clifden.

We were four people eating in this "restaurant" tonight. We all selected different dishes and everyone was very disappointed by the food. Overcooked, no taste, too cold... Now the question is to know who is going to be sick tomorrow... Not to mention the staff quite rude with customers.

We drove up to Clifden via the Wild Atlantic Way and came across this cute town nestled between hils and the sea. After looking at TripAdvisor for restaurant recommendations, we decided on Macdara's and we were not dissaponted. The quaint style and great live music were amazing. The good was some of the best in Ireland that we had and the seafood chowder was the best my husband and I have ever had. For non seafood lovers (our daugther) there was a chicken pasta which was wonderful. You not only need to go to Clifde, you need to eat at Macdara's. There is a a beautiful patio out the back that overlooks the sea but we got there late and ate inside so we could listen to the music.

We had never visited this Pub before, and was impressed.Nice Pub and a lovely homely atmosphere.Not a huge selection on the menu, but a nice choice.Beautiful food. Delicious.Staff very friendly and kind.Thank you to Maire and Breda, for all their kindness and making us feel so welcome.Toilets ok.We look forward to returning.

I remember visiting here thirty years ago and it was exceptional. Nothing has changed! Perfect crab and chowder!! The service was very good and they have updated their coffee, which was delicious. You can pass through Letterfrack very easily but this place is a perfect spot for great food and lovely local atmosphere.Thank you. Great that you still enjoyed it so much - don't leave it for so long ;)

Even off season it is popular. Lovely bar area. Food is really tasty. Great choice. Seafood platter was wonderful. Deserts are a great end to a perfect meal.

Ate here with my family over a bank holiday weekend. The staff were very accommodating, did sandwiches for us when they were off the menu, and brought my son's food out first. Great friendly staff. As soon as you step in, on the front wall you can see an excellent newspaper's review about this bar that begins with something like: "In the middle of nowhere there is a bar..." etc. The review goes on with words of praise which I completely agree except for the the "middle of nowhere"... This is the middle of Ireland, (not exactly "nowhere"), very close to either Connemara Nat'nl park and Galway. Besides, the place is truly great as well as the food, fresh and tasty. Last but not least, something about the staff. I can say just one thing: my wife forgot her bag there with everything inside (I really mean everything: from the glasses to the plane tickets). Well they found it, kept it safe and gave us back when we returned after hours of anguish and distress. So long.
