We took warm shelter in here on a very long, lovely but chilly beach walk. The decor is great- very modern and trendy. The service was good and the hot drinks fine. It was busy despite being winter. We didnât try the food.

De Buurman means The Neighbour. No doubt this name is chosen because this restaurant is a recent extention of the nextdoor pub that has been there for decennia. Hence you would expect the served food to be simple pubgrub quality for a reasonable price. This is half right: the price is indeed very reasonable and low compared to local competition, but the quality of the food is no less than excellent ! The pub origin of this restaurant shines through in the extensive beer menu whereas wine is only available red, rose or white of the house, and served in too small glasses and not in quarters or half liter quantity. That is an important issue to improve but it really is the only issue. Highly recommended !!

Bistro on top of the dunes with marvelous seaview. Sunny terrace overlooking the beach. Classic Flemmish cuisine based on seafood. Open wines and classic cocktails. Dogs only allowed on the terrace.

Beaufort in Cadzand is a newly build restaurant. Right in the middle of many good places. There's a lot of choice, but we made the right decision that day. Very nice dressed table, kind/friendly personel,...nothing complicated for a great lunch....just fresh/good/honest/well served/open kitchen food...what can a person ask more ?

Situated in the centre of Retranchement :). Large terrace and a friendly service. We had excellent muscles and the kids had some steaks. All well prepared. A no nonsene place. Dinner is being served rather early

What a horrible experience! Had a bunch of guys standing very close behind us, using our table (where we were having dinner) as their bar/trash can. When politely asking them to stop, as well asking the staff to interfere (also the shift manager), nothing changed, in fact it worsened. We had to ask the staff several times to interfere before anything happened. It almost turned into a physical fight and two of the hooligans broke two glasses. Still, no apologies from the staff at any point. They seemed to know the hooligans and didn't care to do anything about it. Mediocre food, awful service & bad attitude. By the way, if you are hoping to get good local fish, this is not the place. The fish tasted as it had been frozen and all fish dishes were drowned in cream.

We started off a bit on the wrong foot as they couldn't find our booking and seemed flustered, and I was flustered because I didn't see why it mattered given that they had many tables available. Things improved from there. Someone helpfully explained the entire menu (which was in Dutch!). We settled on mussels nature, which came in a huge traditional pot with frites and sauce. We also had the shrimp croquettes and one order of bread with herbed butter. Everything came out at the same time and was fresh and delicious. The mussels weren't the best I've ever had - I thought the broth was too salty and too oniony - maybe the could have had more options (there were two - nature (the one we took) and garlic and cream. But they were good, and it was (almost) season, so we were happy with the choice. The rest of the food was fresh and delicious too. With drinks, I think it came to around 55-60 EUR. Very reasonable. And one of the server spoke Spanish (which my husband also speaks) - this simplified things as English wasn't getting much traction. A nice location with free 1.5 hour parking. Recommended!

Very nice on pre- and after season... nice vieuw on the big ships that go near the beach in to the Schelde river... We always take the beachhouse tapa dish ,one for 2 or 4 persons and than a Main dish, all of that with a AIX provence rose wine....

Since Nieuwvliet Bad is a very small place there is not much choice as far as food is concerned. There are only the so-called beach pavillions that serve overpriced frozen tv-meals and the frituur parlours (i.e. fish and chips and frikadel places) that are quite ok but one quickly tires of fried and greasy food no matter how good it is and how hungry you are. De Zeeuwse Kust is a proper restaurant with a proper service so if you want something more up-market and fresh, this is the place to go. The service is friendly.

Excellent located on the beach of Cadzand, easily accessible and close to a public parking. Great starting point for a nice beach walk.We had drinks and coffee but didnât eat.Good, efficient and friendly service.Prices are ok.
