The population was 10,798 at the 2010 census (The population does not include Kennebunkport, a separate town). Kennebunk is home to several beaches, the Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge, the 1799 Kennebunk Inn, many historic shipbuilders' homes, the Brick Store Museum and the Nature Conservancy Kennebunk Plains (known locally as the Blueberry Plains), with 1,500 acres (6 km²) of nature trails and blueberry fields.

We arrived in Kennebunkport on a Sunday and decided to enjoy our first happy hour of the trip at the Burleigh located in the Kennebunkport Inn. The happy hour runs from 3-5PM and features $6 appetizers and house wine. On arrival we discovered there was entertainment at the outdoor patio, but we opted to avoid the crowd and summer heat by sitting inside at the very attractive bar that was almost entirely devoid of customers. My wife ordered Harken Chardonnay while I cast my vote in favor of the Sangre de Toro tempranillo, both of which were good. We requested an order of mussels off the happy hour menu, but were advised by our server that management had recently decided to discontinue serving both the mussels and the entire dinner service. Gabby, our server, was outgoing and very helpful. Given the early cutoff hour of happy hour and elimination of the mussel appetizer, I find little incentive for us to return.Hi westie2,Thanks for the review. Sorry to hear you may not come back though. Our amazing brunch, creative evening small plates menu, inventive and fresh cocktails, great servers and lively patio and deck are not for everyone. We had a really nice dinner here tonight. Casual and lively atmosphere with a good variety of menu options. Two of us ordered pizza which was the best pizza weâve here on the southern coast of Maine, great crust. One of us ordered Seared Sea Scallops which were great, and my husband ordered a ribeye steak. The steak arrived not cooked as ordered and the waitress and manager/owner (not sure which) corrected the situation to perfection, and all without a hint of attitude. Fantastic service ladies! It is this customer service that put you into superstar category. Thank you for a really great evening.

My wife and I stopped for dinner and drinks. Live Band was awesome. We danced a bit, had an awesome Quesadilla and a few beers. The atmosphere is one of the best you will find. Wait staff service is outstanding and happy to serve. We did not 'ride the hog', but did enjoy watching a few others perform the ritual. (A solid metal full scale 'HOG' mounted on a table that is meant to entice patrons to 'get on and ride'....for a great photo op). Great fun. Happy folks all around, just plain a good time. We will be back. Oh, prices are VERY reasonable.

My last experience was less than stellar. Food was good but not exceptional and staff was less than attentive. Recently tried another location in South Portland and similar experience. Will try again to see if things improved. If not moving on Maine has too many great places to settle

We went for happy hour/late lunch on a rainy, yucky afternoon, & had a wonderful time. Our food was fabulous, & our server made for a wonderful overall experience. I appreciated the beer selection, and the portion sizes were nice for the price. I'm not sure WHEN we'll be back, but we WILL be back!

We had reservations and were promptly seated in a booth that had us feeling we were sitting right on the water....ambiance was exceptional.....our server Madalyn was exceptional too.....the food was absolutely delicious. Canât say the whole dining experience could have been any better!

Went for first time, and enjoyed our drinks and snacks on deck.The food is limited but good. Good selection of Craft beers and cocktails.Wine selection is too limited and adding some single malts would be a good idea.Game room upstairs is interesting Thank you for sharing and for your feedback! We are a brewery and distillery and so we only carry our beer and spirits here at the tasting room with just a couple of wines on draft. So it is true that our spirit and wine options are limited! We are thrilled to hear you enjoyed your drinks and food and we hope to see you again in the future!

We decided to eat outside as we found it lively but noisy inside. We had some terrific fried clams to start followed by excellent lobster with good sides of fries and broccolini. Service was friendly prices reasonable...highly recommended!
