Although Mule Camp is a tavern, the food they serve would make any chef from a top scale, 5 star establishment, proud! The food is fresh, the menu creative, and the presentation is exceptional! Mule Camp is unique, unexpected, and a wonderful surprise! (Something you hope to experience from an American tavern, but rarely find). The food isn't the only impressive element that separates Mule Camp from other bars/taverns; I found it to be clean, excellent service (friendly and eager to accommodate you), and they provide top local bands for concerts and shows on the weekend.

i've eaten a fair amount of burgers. what maybe 100,000. some of them got mushrooms, some got that funny cheese, some got grilled onions, they even sometimes put bbq sauce on them. they make a darn good burger here: one o fate better burgers you'll find. they'll decorate it any ole way you want. with all of that stuff or none at all. i like my burger with mustard, never any mayo, onions, lettuce and pickles. i can take or leave tomatoes depending upon what time of year it is, but this is my regular go to burger order. in my home town if you order a burger "all the way" is comes with slaw like they are doing you a favor. they don't announce it. it's just part of the deal. slaw means mayonaise where i come from and if you if want to ruin my day put mayo all over my burger. mrs bbq likes slaw, mayo and ordering her burgers all teh way. i gave up a long time ago doing anything about that. i still cringe, but i've accepted it. i don't gag near as much as i once did when she'll bite into a burger and a slug of mayo will roll off the burger and descend into a splatter of white decrepit waste on the plate. now a splatter is all together different. i cannot abide a mayonaise spaltter. they make a great burger here, will dress is any way you'd like em too and dog gone all but give em away on tuesdays. service is top notch and the place is clean if dated, as the bar scene across the way from teh restaurant has worn hard on the building.

Stopped by for a light snack. I ordered shrimp bits and my girlfriend ordered the chilie cheese fries. Both were excellent. The fries would serve several folks. Eat here often and have never had a bad meal. Service is prompt and friendly. Try Gainesville's own Left Nut Brew.

We were doing spring time yard work, and we decided to take a break. We had never been to the Recess Gastro Pub, so decided to give it a try.The rare London Broil roast beef sandwich was most excellent, and I had a porter that they have on tap. Great food and brew.Jennifer Woodcock and Allanah Smith were our bartenders, and the service was excellent. A great place to hang out on a Saturday afternoon.
