Ashkelon (/ˈæʃkəlɒn/; also spelled Ashqelon and Ascalon /ˈæskəlɒn/; Hebrew: אַשְׁקְלוֹן [aʃkelon]; Arabic: عَسْقَلَان ʿAsqalān) is a coastal city in the Southern District of Israel on the Mediterranean coast, 50 kilometres (31 mi) south of Tel Aviv, and 13 kilometres (8.1 mi) north of the border with the Gaza Strip. The ancient seaport of Ashkelon dates back to the Neolithic Age. In the course of its history, it has been ruled by the Ancient Egyptians, the Canaanites, the Philistines, the Assyrians, the Babylonians, the Greeks, the Phoenicians, the Hasmoneans, the Romans, the Persians, the Arabs and the Crusaders, until it was destroyed by the Mamluks in 1270.

I been to brasserie many time during my working period in ashkelon, food is good, you got different choice beetween fish & meat, after they open the entire external view it's nice to eat during the sunset, waiters are good and friendly, price it's medium like all the restaurant, suggested

This was our fourth visit, and the taste and quality continued to be strong. Great drink list, great hummus, nice size portions, everything fresh and very tasty. We love watching the sunset over the beach.Be aware, though, it can be smoky and a little loud, but so worth the visit!

Went there already twice and will definitely come back. The first time I followed the GPS and couldn`t find it until I realized that it`s a typical Irish Pub. Happy hour for beer starting from 5pm (?) til 8pm. Very nice atmosphere inside! Professional perfect service in any way. I like fine dining once in a while but have also a weakness for good burgers. These burgers are awesome!

Archie's has a new menu with quite a few new dishes. The pizzas are excellent and the seafood dishes are yummy. The hamburgers are tops as before. There are some new draft beers to keep us interested. The atmosphere is fun. On the Friday evening that we were there, many families came with their children for dinner. The younger crowd comes later at night. The service is friendly and prompt. Next time we will sample their interesting sandwiches. You can not go wrong at Archie's!
