The walk from Querico D' Orcia, along the Via Francigena, was amazing! We arrived in Castiglione D' Orcia a little after sunset. Though there were no hotel rooms available in town, a staff person at the Le Rocche bar helped arrange a room for us, in a beautiful house with an amazing view of the castle. Thank you! We returned for dinner after checking into our room. It was wonderful. Friendly staff, efficient service and tremendous food. One of the best meals of our trip.

It is a simple restaurant but with real Italian food. If you chose pasta they will serve it " al dente" if you want a bit more cooked you should ask for it. The house wine is good and cheap. Good relation price / quality.

I went here for lunch. They have a day menu with the 1st course for 5 Euro and 2nd course with side dish for 7.50. Food was decent and portion was not small. I wanted to get a pizza, but unfortunately it is available only in the evening. Restaurant has fine selection of deserts.

Great restaurant set in a quaint village we came across on the way back to pienza from saturnia. The manager and chef were very friendly, good honest people, the house wine was delicious, the tiramisu and pannacotta to die for and just 3 euros! The mushroom and ham pizza was so good we had to order another one! Definitely no tourist trap!Thank you so much for your review. We chose for our costumers a short menu in order to provide an high food's quality.

Once again, at this time of year, I find myself back in Tuscany revisiting some stunning places and great restaurants. I know I have reviewed this restaurant favourably before but I must once again tell you of my latest experience at this pleasantly appointed restaurant. The service was very good, friendly and delivered with a genuine smile on their faces. And more importantly the food was still terrific and the prices had not been increased from last year, making it even cheaper than before. This restaurant must be the cheapest in Tuscany and given the quality of the food offers, what I believe, to be the best value meal in the whole of Tuscany. If you are in the area of Castel Del Piano, which is an attractive town, then do yourself a big favour and eat here. I will be going back there very soon.

i should have checked the reviews before ordering fish.the staff is friendly,food good but fresh fish for 2 cost 65 euro!if i had known we would have ordered something else.since there are other good places to eat in the area i wouldn't go back.

Located at the entry to the hill town....close to the intersection between the main road that leads past the town and the one road that leads up into the hill town....this small bar/ristorante seems to specialize in low cost drinks and gelato....both draws for local business. They also feature a not very exciting lineup of pizzas and a small selection of more traditional italian trattoria items.The unusual things about the pizza: the 'rita' ingredient is local for margherita....but here it is a thick, almost tomato paste concoction forming the base of the pizza. The meat component of the pizzas we ordered (proscuitto and salami) was sliced razor thin and pretty much overwhelmed by the sauce. The pasta was passable, but nothing to go out of the way for. The local white wine they serve is of reasonable quality, but a bit pricey.The service was friendly. The interior is lined with movie posters and the decor is standard tile floor and wood tables....nothing special, more like a cafeteria than a restaurant.However, while there on a hot July night, they were doing a good business is selling hand packed containers of gelato for take-away and serving various drinks to locals hanging out in the small bar area.There is another restaurant in town.....at the top of the hill in the 'main square' (really a dead end with a widening of the final portion of the road) that has a more extensive menu as well as an enoteca. These two seem to be the only choices in town unless you can find the Michelin 1 star restaurant located a few kilometers up the hill from the Daniel Spoerri Sculpture park.

the first time everything was excellent with friendly service.the second time my tagliata was tough,so tough i asked for a sharper knife.they didn't have one.i complained about the meat and the owner's reply was useless-this is the meat the butcher sold us.and the item was not removed from the bill.so i don't think i will go back.
