TIP. Restaurant is on Stephensons Road. Large car park at rear, with rear pedestrian entrance into restaurant.Smart looking table cloths. Two of us sat in a 4 person booth - nice, comfy, roomy seating. Long tables are available for small groups. At 6pm on this Saturday there were plenty of spare seats.TIP. BYO wine is permitted, but $7 per bottle corkage. The in-house wines are reasonably priced, so leave the BYO at home. Wines available by the glass. Beers available. Food is Hakka style (region in SE China) with Swedish influence. The #5 Hakka Fried Prawns with Steve's spicy Hakka dipping sauce were a delicious entree, and the Masala (spicy) Fish main course (pictured) was absolutely scrumptious - so full of spicy flavours - with Egg Rice side dish. And the Swedish Cake w ice cream for dessert was really good also. We'll have to go back again.

First time visitor here with friends and had a great time. The atmosphere is great. Background music is great, you can have easy conversations without screaming. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Most important the food was awesome. Pizzas very tasty home style cooking. Steak with gravy was superb. The buffalo chicken wings were super tasty and a little spicy. Highly recommend this place.

Al (formerly at Al's place pizza) has taken over Romeos pizza and renamed the business. (Al no longer has any association with Al's place pizza.) The pizza quality is good and prices are good also ($10 for a large pizza). This is now our new go to pizza place.

Im the one that recommends buying it!! I have loved every pizza I have ordered.. we get Uber to deliver..Thank you so much for your appreciation! Thanks for the awesome review Charli.

When we walked in for the first time I was impressed with the visual appearance. Very warm and appealing. We had Lamb shanks with gravy and mash potatoes which was very tasty. Meat fell off the bones. We also tried the chef special Lobster tail spaghetti with chilli. That was very nice and just a little spicy. I thought it could have had just a little more seasoning. Overall a pleasant experience. $75 for 2 meals, glass of wine and herbal tea.

Service was average, the food took too long to come out (1 hour!) and the pizza was the worst Iâve had. Very disappointing!

After moving into the area my partner and I tried out a pizza from here. Though the toppings were minimal the flavours were really great. I imagine this is a more closer to traditional Italian pizza and I'm just used to the American style ones.

Last here years ago because I did not agree with 'quantity over quality' segment here.we ordered the crowd favourite's cheese garlic bread and seafood platter.Food came out fast and quality seemed improved but this is based on only the 2 dishes we ordered. Sofia has been around for a couple of decades so you can take it that it's popular and there are a large enough segment of clients whom would choose quantity over quality. I hope Sofia do continue to open for many years to come as this would be the place I can afford to take my less fastidious relatives from overseas without burning too much of a hole in pocket and they would not be so discerning as I on quality of food. In short, not bad but don t expect it to be on par with the better Italian restaurants in Lygon St.
