The Antico Casale degli Ulivi is also a restaurant/pizzeria with high quality cuisine that contrasts ancient and modern dishes of both meat and fish, accompanied by fine wines from Sicilian wine cellars.
Let's start with the nice stuff.Location is pleasant an service is quite attentive, the fish was fresh and it wold be a nice place.HOWEVERwe wanted to have some fish but we have been told there is no written fish menu so the waiter listed all available options without mentioning any cost.We ordered starters and a main course (pasta with seafood), starters were nice (as said fish was fresh) but we had to wait a lot for starters based on raw fish.Main course was good, but nothing special or unforgettable, you can do the same easily at home and I'm sure quantity would be much more reasonable. The bill was a very bad surprise, we didn't receive the details of each line we ordered an was 40 Eur each, unexpected and much higher of the restaurant in the area.We appreciated the fresh ingredients but those prices (btw unknown so far as no menu, no details) are much (way too much) higher than other locations. GRAZIE E A PRESTO

The pizza was great. The service excellent and the owner very friendly. Good value for money. It is a basic up/pizzeria. We went quite early so not much atmosphere, most people arrive after nine o'clock. Nevertheless the pizza was great, the beer good and the people very friendly!!
I truly had the best pizza of my life. Great atmosphere and super nice people around. English somehow limited, but Italian kindness and hospitality totally made up for it!Highly recommended.

Happened to discover the place by chance since we were parked nearby.A good selection on the menu with very reasonable prices. As a starter I opted for the antipasti table in which I wasn't disappointed. For main I had the scaloppine ai funghi which for what you pay are very reasonably priced and genuine. My friends had pizza which also comes in a very generous size.We stepped in late and waiters were very friendly and didn't even hurry us.The only thing which I couldn't understand is that they do not have a wine list and their wine selection is only offered from the shelve for reds and fridge for whites, in both cases with very minimum selection and low quality.

Villa Esedra is a beautiful property overlooking the seafront in Avola, where you can enjoy excellent dishes of fish or meat and a great pizza.
The fact that this restaurant is highly rated on TA despite only one other English review to date says a lot.We were staying in Syracuse in May 2015, and on a trip out were looking for a good restaurant with a sea view. There didn't seem to be many of these, but Villa Esedra fitted the bill, with an attractive terrace looking out to the sea. Family run - Mum cooks, Dad looks after the bar, their son serves (though I bet they need more staff in high season, especially as they have a huge function marquee behind the resto).Great for seafood, risotto and pasta, and reasonable pricesDear customer ,thank you for your review .If planning another vacation in Sicily we will be happy to receive you again in our restaurant .Greetings,Villa Esedra

Really good service, lovely waiter. Burrata was amazing to start, and all other courses were great. 2 of our party wanted something not on the menu and this was accommodated perfectly. All courses great and 10 euro bottle of wine was superb. Cant fault anything from our visit.

The place is just off the main road from Siracusa to Avola... easy to miss the turn off, but once you have been there you will never forget. We had splendid food and wine, served with a smile and very professionally!! No surprise the place is always full!! They serve all type of traditional Sicilian cuisine, but also pizza. We had fish, it was simply fantastic!! Thoroughly recommended!!

Visited this place earlier this week. The staff there were very welcoming, and friendly. We were there quite early so we were the first there, and pizza was ready within minutes. Can easily say that this was one of the best pizzas i have ever tasted. Also all my family were impressed. They also serve gluten free pizza with home made dough. Highly recommended.
